Really great listen. Went by quick. Very interesting to hear the type of DMB Fan Joe is. Not what I expected but offered a great point of view.

This was a great listen, Bruce. Really enjoyed the openness and honesty you both got out of him without any extra push or pestering

This was a really fun listen, I didn't expect him to be as open and up front on some topics. I saw him sit in for Tim last year at Deer Creek, and he wasn't kidding. He absolutely brought the heat on every single song. #41 was much better with him at the lead guitar spot.

A quick couple hours! Great episode. Fascinating to hear about the arc of his working/personal relationship with the guys over the years.

    Great listen. Thanks for sharing.

Would love to hear more about his feelings about/relationship with Trey. Sounds like he wasn't great on D&F tours which has been somewhat known.

Also I find it interesting that as an archivist he really doesn't know or care much about liberations.

Joe Lawlor is part of the band's crew and sometimes guests with the band. I can't imagine he ever came to an Ants tailgate, much less DJed. I assume that's Joe from the Ants staff.

Perfect listening on the back half of my overnight shift wow that was solid. To the hosts you guys did great by standing back and letting Joe go. Less is more when a guy is riffing off of the cuff like that just let the man go and get out of his way! Very interesting stuff.

Fantastic interview. Loved it. I thought the part about Butch sending a text saying he was done was interesting. Have we heard that his departure went down like this before? The stuff about LeRoi was also touching—he was the composer/arranger of this band.

Listening now, one interesting stand out that i dont think has been mentioned in here yet is the vault.

This site complains about them not releasing these studio sessions to the public willing to pay for them quite a bit, but Lawlor hints basically that once the band is done all the studio recordings they have done will still be eventually be released- which is the smart way to go about it as a business

I think it's pretty confirmed that during this time, Trey was going through a lot with substance abuse and was just not in a good place. I think that is what he is referring to in that segment. I'm not a big Phish guy, but Trey seems to be in a much better place today than he was back then which is great to see and a credit to him.

Dime Store Stefan is Snickerdoodle, or whatever his name is. He gets on every few weeks and talks about how racist the boards are. An enjoyable existence, obviously. If Dime Store Stefan listens to the podcast and Joe’s story about the knife incident, his head may explode.

Real cool that Lawlor was so forthcoming and open. Good inside details and all that...had to look to the Almanac for that Mayer story...their guest spots did not happen on the same night, so either DM had him sit around N1 and come back N2, or the story did not happen in this way.

Also, the 80's Hair Metal Cheese I felt oozing out of the Virginia Beach Graves solo this summer is now completely justified

The Corner of Grey Street Podcast

18 days from now, it will be the Before These Crowded Streets 25th anniversary.
I have rewatched the Corner of Grey Street episode 61 (Sam Erickson), when he talks about the (remote?) possibility of a DVD with unseen footage etcetera.
Do you have any news about that? Did you have the chance to speak with Sam lately, now that he left Sony and he is starting a new venture? Here is an IG post of a couple of months ago, where he mentions that possibility.
    https://images2.imgbox.com/75/a0/pmYk1QxC_o.jpeg
What are those chances in your opinion?

New episode out from last week, breaking down the Monsters and Break Free "releases" and our interaction with Fonz on twitter about it all and the lack of him on Monsters.

Unfortunately no updates on BTCS 25 and sadly the band hardly acknowledged it, except for Fonz, who continues to be the most outspoken band member. Always appreciative of his willingness to interact with fans on twitter.

why wouldnt the gorge count? he didnt qualify non-gorge shows, just said shows with a OSW opener.

Because in general the Gorge is an outlier, 3 nights without repeats so you are getting more of the catalog played. Its uncommon to have a so called "cookie cutter" show there. They are always among the rarest shows of the tour.

If you look at the other show you linked, there are only 4 songs that had less than 10 plays on the tour...Eh Hee, The Riff, Ocean/Butterfly, and DIDO.

true. i guess midset nancies--> WH made it stand out a bit more to me, i wouldve been happy with that set.

Unless you are getting a rarity opener i would guess most common openers have a similar rarity count. Assume OSW, FITR, TGIY, YMDT, 41 as show openers would have comparable setlists
