New Album Have a Code/Want a Code Thread

Thanks for breaking out this thread separately! I'm very likely to be purchasing the album no matter what, especially if there's a good bonus disc, but certainly wouldn't turn down a code if someone feels like sharing.

Not even sure, TBH. LOL. If the bonus material doesn't interest me, I might skip buying separately if I manage to get a code. If the bonus stuff looks good, then I'd definitely buy whatever's necessary to get that.

Of course they do. WH isn’t THAT bad.

Once the 2018 DMB album is complete,
the Warehouse will email Members with codes to redeem
a CD or Digital Download for FREE!
One new DMB studio album is provided per ticket!
Members can choose to redeem multiple codes or not.

Not that I care (in fact I'm for it), but how is sharing codes any different than sharing a Live Trax or other officially released music? Isn't the latter prohibited on this site? Seems arbitrary.

You can only use each code once.


So it'd be like buying a LT and having it shipped to someone else, which is allowed (not that anyone would do it.)

Right, but potentially, someone who didn't purchase the album is now getting the album for free. And in turn, the person on the receiving end would be far less likely to purchase the album. Isn't that the equivalent of why you don't allow digital trading of officially released stuff? I often hear "support the band and buy it".

I'm all for trading, and I wish we were allowed to trade officially released stuff on here, but I completely understand why we are not allowed to. Just seems like, at least to me, trading codes is something this site would normally frown upon because of the reasons I stated above. As I said above, I'm all for it. Was more or less just curious.

On the other hand, the album has already been bought and paid for by the person who bought the tickets. It's no different than buying multiple copies of the CD and handing them out to friends.

Also, they have explicitly stated that if you've purchased multiple tickets and get multiple codes, you should share the extras with friends & family.

Redemption codes are 1 time use only and are case sensitive. If you bought more than one ticket and have redeemed your own code, feel free to share the extra codes with friends and family.

Also, Warehouse explicitly said to share your extra codes with friends and family (I'm trying to find the exact quote.) So even if we might have frowned upon it for the reasons you mentioned, WH rendered that moot when they said it was okay.

So maybe they walked it back... I can't seem to find the sharing bit anymore.
