weather had nothing to do with the band cutting the show short. The venue was not notified that the show was being cut short. We did not know until they walked off for the encore.

Hope everyone is doing well tonight. I just needed a litte DMB fix on a sad sad day.

The music industy lost a great man today. Steve Finkel (General Manager) for VWMC lost his battle with cancer this morning.

For those that may have heard about Live Strong Rock Hard this past fall that was to honor Steve in all that he has done for the Live Strong Foundation.

Though none of you ever met Steve he is the reason VWMC is the venue that it is today.

RIP Steve.

These crazy rumors about rain stopping DMB at Deer Creek are a farce. N1 2005 a torrential downpour soaked us from start to finish -- DMB did not cut anything short that night.

I was there, and it was awesome! I was camping at dead creek, and put on a trash bag poncho for the walk there. Got to the venue, glad that I had covered pavillion seats until I realized I was last row of the pavillion...not only was rain hitting me, but the downpoor from the top of the pavillion was hitting me too.

My last post in the '09 thread: but I do remember the Live Strong event, I had friends that went who have been touched by cancer (who hasn't really) and they said it was so well done. Very sad for the loss but, if he helped make that venue what it is, he deserves all our thanks.
