Vinyl Delay

I just got this message from the WH store via email:

Thank you for pre-ordering Dave Matthews Band Come Tomorrow. Due to production delays, the release date for Vinyl and Cassette has been changed to June 29, 2018. Pre-orders for White Vinyl, Black Vinyl and Cassette will ship on or around June 27 along with other items on your order.

You will receive a full album MP3 on release day, June 8. Please look for an email that morning with a link to download your album. We hope you enjoy the new album.

I'm always indecisive about this when vinyl delivers after release. Are you going to wait til the vinyl arrives to listen to the full studio album, or will you listen on release day and when the vinyl comes it comes.

Does this also reflect if you purchased the two DMB Live vinyls with your Preorders?

I am really looking forward to hearing how good it sounds on vinyl. However, for the first listen, I壇 rather hear it flow all the way through without flip breaks. Once I get my vinyl copy, I will likely listen to it on that format the majority of the time going forward.

Also, I want to hear it as soon as it痴 released, so I値l definitely be listening to my digital download when available.

I can understand the delay on the vinyl... but cassette?!? Is this really an issue? I'll send you the album on cassette on June 9th if you can't wait until June 29th! lol

This is pathetic. I got this email yesterday and am so disappointed. I wanted my first listen to be on vinyl, week of release. No way I’ll be waiting til end of the month to listen and now they’ve got my money. All the time in the world to plan this album and it’s release and they still fuck it up.

Warehouse member since 2006 when I was broke. Now with a career I’m finding less and less reason to drop money on this band. Probably the last time I pre order anything.

    Re: Vinyl Delay

Pressing house delays are outside Sony’s control and have literally nothing to do with the band. Delays in vinyl releases occur often.

I could understand wanting to listen to vinyl first if we knew it was being separately mastered, but if the past two studio albums have taught us anything...

My guess with Cassette is that they didn't sell as many as anticipated, go figure , and they're trying to acquire more unit sales for a one-off production run. Regarding the Vinyl, it happens all the time... I was actually surprised that they'd given the same release date at the time of purchase. That seemed to be quite a short window.

That couldn't have ever happened. Even during start of pre-order the vinyl was not going to be ready the week of release. This is just a delay in addition to that delay.

    Re: Vinyl Delay

Does this mean that NOTHING in our order will ship until the vinyl is ready? I had someone from MusicToday tell ,e that if you ordered the CD, that will ship on June 6th still. I don’t know though...

True, I did not look closely and made the assumption of same day release. The delay still is disappointing.

My email said if you ordered vinyl a digital copy would be available on release day.

Yea, but I ordered the vinyl, CD with WH bonus disc, and shirt, and I知 wondering if they値l wait to ship my entire order until the vinyl is ready or if they値l ship the items separately as they become available.

If I were a betting man I'd say we're waiting until everything can ship together. It is a "bundle" after all.

I think they will wait and ship the entire order. I e-mailed the WH about this but have not heard back.
