I like the Graceland vibe people are noticing, I also think this could have been the best song the Spin Doctors wrote if they had written it. A very light funk early 90s feel to the song. This has potential to really develop into a great showcase live.

    Re: Do You Remember

When I first heard this song from Farm Aid I liked it. I thought it had a charm about it and I really enjoyed the semi-moody chorus. When we got the album cut my initial reaction was that I liked it, however, the more I listen to this song the less and less I enjoy it. I think its inherently better suited in the D&T arena. Feels gimmicky on the LP to me. I also think the affectation of the you-ou-ou-ou-ous and the we-ee-ee-ee-eees is much easier on the ear in the D&T style than on the album.

Glad some seem to really enjoy it though. Every song on this album seems to have inspired some polarizing viewpoints.

I was listening to a live recording of it from chaddizzy (I think 5/18 or 5/19)

The end “Jam” is really nice. I’ve really come around on this song

This track is so much fun. When I've listening through the album I always forget it's coming--and it's always an extra little blast of sunshine when it shows up.

It really is a blast of sunshine. Been stuck in my head all week. A fun little slice of folk-pop.

This song struck me immediately as having back-influence from Slightly Stoopid, and I say that in a good way!
(Love Slightly Stoopid, love this song. Really really liking the album overall.)

Ya I agree with you. I also don’t like the restrained sounding vocal on the chorus. Just isn’t pleasant on my ears. If they included more of the horns from the live version they could have salvaged the album version a little. But in general it feels like this song was forced to become full band

This song is quickly becoming one of my favorites along with Samurai Cop, and as a whole I'm starting to really like the whole album.

I get a Paul Simon vibe out of it. I love this song a lot and love that Carter does the woos live. Just a good quick live song for sure. End jam is very nice with the horns.

Listening to the Sirius version from last night, you can actually hear the crowd singing along. This song reaks of 90's DMB and I think it's becoming a crowd favorite

This song continues to improve with each new listen. To me it feels like a song that could've been included on one of the Big Three. I love the melody and the lyrics are fun.

Enjoy this song quite a bit, studio and live. Not a huge fan of it opening shows, but I prefer it as an opener over That Girl Is You.

nah. it's a hassle for me to get music on my phone when it comes from a CD (impossible for me actually until I get a CD superdrive), never really had time to do the digital download (if I ever even received the codes I was supposed to get?), and when I listen to vinyl, which is a very rare opportunity, I tend to put on something I know I'll like more.

I heard a lot of the album on siriusxm but not DYR

those were the songs I hadn't heard yet either at a show or on sirius. I enjoyed both the ones we got at the gorge.

He made a comment at MSG that got me thinking about the meaning of this song. Maybe this is old news, and I haven't backread, so forgive me if it's already common knowledge. The comment was something along the lines of 'you know, we all love our friends and we all want to be with the people that we love, but we don't know how much we love them until they go away. It's a depth of sadness...enjoy it while you have it because shit is going to be over'. Is it about his sister, or maybe another child hood friend? Or does anyone know?

It's about a close friend that past away within the past few years.
