Re: Bob Law

This one is the grower for mine - I instantly liked Samurai Cop and preferred Bismarck to Bob Law but it has over taken it now

It sounds like Boyd has reworked his part . I can hear him a bit on some of the YouTube videos. It sounds much better. The growth in Law and Bismarck is very encouraging

I enjoy Samurai Cop, but right now it plays more like an early idea for a song than a finished product.

I'm not sure I dislike Samurai Cop. It's catchy, and there's an anthemic quality I dig. That said, I'm not sure the vocals anywhere in the song are all that interesting, esp if Dave sings it flat (reminds me of the problem with the IOY chorus). It's also not a lyric I'd want to hang my hat on.

But \_(ツ)_/, it's def a step above DOTHS and Be Yourself

The potential for these songs is something that should have every fan feeling very optimistic. Each one grows more on me after every listen

This song is still not doing it for me. My least fav of the three new ones. It's just not there yet.

I want to see the band perform this song in black and white, wearing suits, smoking cigarettes, and in the lounge from the Crush music video. That is the vibe I get from this song, and it's fantastic.

This tune really does bring the funk. Glad the three new tunes are all very different from each other.

    This.

Also, the bridge sounds unfinished, like they're still trying out different chords as they play it live.

It does nothing for me Jantz. It's slow and repetitive and its like a drawn out Mercy. It will probably be powerful on the album, but so far, live...its not connecting for me.

    Re: Bob Law

Samurai Cop is definitely the best of the bunch but I'm not seeing why everyone is ragging on this song. I think it is miles ahead of DOTHS, Virginia, and even Black and Blue Bird. I definitely was skeptical when I saw new songs released after the last handful but I am really excited to hear these live soon.

Upon first listen Bob Law was my favorite of the new three. And still is. I really like this one and Bismarck. Samurai Cop is just ok.

I enjoy Bob Law, but it kind of has no vibe or personality, for me. Like, Samurai Cop is joyful and bright, DOTHS is creepy and slightly morbid, Black and Blue Bird is warm and relaxed, etc, etc. Bob Law isn't anything, IMO.

I'm not ragging on it, again, I enjoy it, but that's why it's towards the bottom of the new ones for me personally.

I don't know if I'm late to the party or misheard but I think the name of this song has to do with sounding like "blah blah blah blah" if you say it fast.

At the Little Rock show, Dave said that was the name of the song "blah blah blah blah blah"
