Re: Bob Law

Carter and Tim are awesome on this one. Really liked the first listen - sounds like a good one. Dave sounds a little rusty though....first show.

Got some good smack on Fonz's bass there. He's all over this one. Pretty jazzy little tune.

Totally agreed. Think the key was Stefan slapping the shit out this to bring the funk.

Easily my favorite of the three. This is a fun song

This exactly. Strong verses, just an okay chorus. Least favorite of the debuts after several listens.

This is becoming my favorite each time I listen. That chorus is so good. I love that they've produced new material and I can't decide which one I love the most.

All three songs are good. Have tehhh energyzzz while at the same time being well written and catchy. Been a while since I could say that. Away from the World is good but lacking in energy.

Dave's vocal delivery is key in this song. Carter and Fonz drive the ship, but Dave's delivery is nasty too. Like it.

Granny is one thing 25 years ago in a slew of 30 something songs that he plays on. This is 3 new songs + Virginia in the Rain and Death on the High Seas in which Boyd has absolutely no prescence in the song at all. That's a lot of songs in a row to not have a single violin note heard.

Despite no Boyd on this (which sucks because I could hear all sorts of sections he could be playing on this) this has become my favorite of the bunch. The chorus gets me every time. It's still got some of that DMB swag to it, but different enough to be fresh and interesting. If they release a new album I hope they stay away from the safe choice for a single and pick something like this. That's what made them so popular in the 90's. They had a different sound than everything else and it was a breath of fresh air to hear something new on the radio every once in a while.

Turn around and then we goooooooooooooo!

    Love it!

In the opening of grepsons taper pull you can hear him tell the audience to try to come up with a name to the song...

    .. how about Songy McSongface?

Carter is hot fire on this song. He is rocking a real funky beat, Fonz was having a blast grooving along with him, and the whole band has a solid jam at the end. Really dig this tune and hope they expand on it throughout the summer. I'm not the biggest fan of Dave on piano in general, but this one is a keeper IMO.

Really? The recorded Bob Law and Bismarck with an orchestra a while back. Those songs should sound polished, they are new to us, not to the band.

That's probably just a placeholder name. This and samurai cop just sound like they were watching Netflix after playing this and decided to use that as the names.
