The fact that Spoon skips around from present time to the far deep past back to the present time just makes it special for me. And they can keep up instrumentally to what's going on lyrically.

I have roughly 6TB of live tapes, I want to mass convert them all from SHN files. Does anyone have any advice as to how to do this on such a grand scale and keep order of everything? Thanks

I literally cringe when I see the baritone UNLESS they've already played LB that night OR the night before at a twofer. Even then, I might have to suffer through some ED tripe, but all of that is vastly superior...

All hovering around 15 plays this year. I don’t think they’re bad songs, but they don’t jam like bayou. Have you listened to bayou recently? It’s one of their more groovy tracks with a jam that builds.

There are more songs like come on, only thing, why I am, shake me, seven

These are just off the top of my head that I know have been played recently. I’m sure there are more. Again I don’t think they’re bad songs but they pale musically in comparison with this lineup in a live setting in my opinion

Convert them to what? MP3s? Also what type of comp do you have?

It really is something. For me personally, I've thought the lyrics were about suicide but I like your take as well.

Really wish Proudest Monkey was more up tempo like it was in the past. The Red Rocks ‘95 version of it is so bouncy and uptempo but the new version just… crawls. Such a good song but It so mellow now that it really drags the energy down in the place

It was one of their very first demos from either late '90 or early '91. It's four tracks, Best of What's Around, Recently, Song That Jane Likes and I'll Back You Up.

I'll look for the specific folder later tonight and let you know. It is very cool to hear Roi soloing over those 4 descending notes like they did last fall!

Some songs just don't click for me. I can acknowledge that the song is a pretty good song, but it's just not for me. On the other end, I don't think Stand Up is a good song at all, but I've never heard it live and I have always liked it for some reason, it would be a +1 for me.

This is a random ticket related question (as opposed to a thought) that I just posted in the SPAC 2022 thread...

Anyone here know how to contact WH about getting tix to folks that are going to show that you can't get to?

I know that sounds dumb, but unfortunately we're selling or Camden tix and I'm worried about overnight shipping. I'd like to follow-up w/ the WH to make sure the buyers can get their tix and have heard of folks doing this before.

It’s been fun seeing a lot of behind the scenes the past few years with Jeff and Buddy so active on SM. I’ve noticed Jeff, Buddy, Carter and Rashawn hanging out a lot on days off, (fishing, basketball, baseball games). I get not wanting to hang with your coworkers on days off, but I never see Tim, Dave or Stefan join in on the day off fun. Granted Dave and Stefan were at the nba finals game with the rest of the guys, but I rarely see Stefan and Tim hanging with the other guys. Im sure Dave is busiest with other outside engagements on behalf of the band or personal interests, and Tim with TR3, but I have been increasingly curious about Stefan not hanging with the other guys.

whtix@davematthewsband.com is your only outlet I believe as their phone service has been discontinued. They’re pretty good at responding to time sensitive matters so maybe include it in your headline.

Tim is usually in there with them. Stefan and Dave have kids at home so probably go back home or do stuff with them between shows.

That's what I did earlier...dropped and all caps URGENT in the subject, as if they don't get those all the time and aren't swamped during request and tour periods.

Not sure there’s a bigger let down at a show for me than seeing Dave bring out the soprano guitar and they start playing and it’s squirm

That whole big whiskey wall of sound era has really left me loathe most of the songs on that album when I’m at shows, especially Dave screaming “your head” repeatedly

You aren't missing much by not getting current Shotgun, I love certain versions of it but it's a shell of what it used to be

Spac N1 and Gilford N2 showed me the 2022 version of this band can create a setlist with just 1-2 bathroom break songs which i didn't think was possible. For those shows to have no bayou, can't stop, samurai cop, or Jimi was impressive.
