this song might be literally off the hook if they go to local news for running late. But damn Jay Z paying homage to Leaping Lanny Poffo with that awesome rhyming poem.

    Re: The Grammys

    https://variety.com/video/will-smith...ute-questlove/

Two nuggets from the interview/link -

    1) According to Questlove, Will Smith was originally supposed to be a part of the tribute but had to back out due to production on “Bad Boys 4.”

“I’ll give the spoiler alert away. Will Smith was apart of the festivities tonight, but they started shooting ‘Bad Boys 4’ this week,” Questlove told Variety‘s Marc Malkin on the red carpet. “There were a lot of preliminary shots that he had to do, so we had to lose Will.”

    2) While he says the original tribute was going to be 23 minutes long, it has since been cut down to 14 minutes. “It’s going to be amazing,” Questlove promised viewers on the red carpet.

    --

Bummed they cut it from 23 to 14.. and Will would have been cool. I feel like it was still a great performance but they could have done a bit more with it. It seems like it was a last minute thing they threw together since they couldn't get Beyonce/Adele/Taylor/etc to perform. Ice T on the red carpet said Questlove just called him this week and asked if he would do it lol. If they had had a few weeks/months to lock everyone in, would have been even better but still a cool thing to do! I'd love to see a special later this year with more appearances and this was just an appetizer.

It would have been cool to see Snoop Dogg, Andre 3000, Eminem, 50 Cent, Diddy, Lil' Wayne, etc.

One thing about the Grammys is that they are really hard to predict. They always go w/ some random ass winner in the big categories. Like Bonnie Raitt beating out Beyoncé, T Swift, Adele, Kendrick Lamar, etc in Song of the Year last year.

Her Grammy % wins are low overall

    Beyoncé's is way too high.

Performances I’m most looking forward to

Joni Mitchell (I assume it’ll be a Joni Jam..which I was fortunate enough to witness twice last year)
Brandy Clark (hoping duet with Brandi Carlile)
    U2
    Olivia
    Billy Joel
    Luke Comb & Tracy Chapman

Gonna be a great show. I don’t know the last time I was this excited for the Grammy’s.

just finished the We Are The World Doc. Perfect timing before the Grammys. Would be awesome if they performed that song tonight. Great doc. Al Jarreau. . The unsung hero in many ways was Lionel Richie for hosting and then keeping everyone in check during that doc.

For the life of me, I dont know how anyone can just happen to hear that song and not change it unless you are feeling down and depressed and are alone.

It's an instant change. Can't be background music or anything.
