    incredible night

Simons/Grant stole the show in New York, just a barrage of scoring. again Randle and Barrett looking horrible. either those two or Thibodeau, something has gotta change

Brooklyn/Indiana was my first primary, Simmons looks good! attacking the rim, finding his spots, good touch. Durant amazing. just can’t get stops. Haliburton is freaking incredible

Miami/Washington my second primary. haven’t seen the Heat healthy in a while, no Butler/Strus though. Adebayo was great. the zone is okay, understandable as they are not good personnel wise on defense, but absolutely unsustainable for much longer. lucky Washington’s snipers were off. Kispert is not good…

caught some important moments, like Boston’s impeccable third quarter. switching defense was perfect flustering Sabonis and the Sacramento offense when it mattered.

Milwaukee 3rd quarter run vs Cleveland was impressive as well. Antetokuonmpo just paraded to the rim like 15 times. love the energy Nwora and Allen brought. Lopez so good

Golden State good. Utah still looking like a good team that can hang but falling back down to earth a bit

missed a banger in Oklahoma City, and i’ll look at Memphis’s big win tomorrow

LeBron James back and healthy, Lakers slowly creeping into relevance

    Re: The NBA Thread

man Toronto against Dallas is such a treat, Nurse really goes all in on the strategy vs Doncic. instead of mixing it up like their last meeting he straight up trapped with two every time and made Dallas go 4 on 3 which paid off. Bullock and Finney-Smith still atrocious, and Hardaway was pretty silent. Dinwiddie and Wood meh as well. fun game

got a great look at Sengun and Jabari Smith. Smith was on fire from three, which he has been shooting better from. perhaps an indicator of his game moving forward (bc he is awful at twos).

Sengun is incredible, he is like a quarterback on offense and middle linebacker on defense, it looks like he’s literally teaching his teammates out there, he runs the show on both ends

Eason/Garuba/Martin is a nice little energetic bench. Eason will be really good

keep an eye on Jalen Williams for Oklahoma City, he is good in his starting role

Utah was fun, Sexton, Horton-Tucker, and Alexander-Walker stole the show, Markkanen looking very human again despite some tough shots he made. Jazz are a little shaken with this tough schedule, but it’s not like the west suddenly gets easier. selling all these guys off is not off the table imo

zoomed in a little on Ayton and Bridges since i don’t watch a ton of Phoenix this year with all their injuries. Bridges offense is really blossoming, finding his spots on the move like Richard Hamilton and finally increasing his range. Ayton looks a bit back to normal after a bad start to the year. seems to be alright to me tonight

yesterday wasnt as spicy as i thought lol. Minnesota looking good without Towns for a day, Booker so good, Boston good, Williamson good, Sacramento good

been seeing a lot of quarter league award stuff, i will say Curry has eclipsed the competition for mvp in the past 2-3 weeks or so, with Jokic not far behind. Antetokuonmpo/Doncic/Tatum/Durant all in the mix as well while Gilgeous-Alexander/Mitchell have gone a bit down to earth. Davis and Booker creeping up the ranks too though

Id say Luka is leading the mvp race right now, but Tatum is the current draftkings favorite (the success of the celts playing into this I'm sure, and deservedly so). Definitely a close race

I’d probably go Tatum or Giannis as of today. Bias lean towards Giannis. Second-best record in the league without their second-best player and with key guys like Holiday and Connaughton missing stretches of time.

    Re: The NBA Thread

as far as narrative goes it’s prob Doncic so far

but this race has been fascinating even through 20 games, hope it holds

Curry- prob the most efficient performance of all time, usage to true shooting wise and eye test wise

Jokic- prob the biggest offensive impact, 125 ortg when he’s on the floor, and eye test sees that he keeps that team alive with poop teammates

Doncic- offensive juggernaut that has slowed down this past week or so

Antetokuonmpo- biggest defensive juggernaut of the candidates, offense comes and goes but counting stats are there, impressive team performance/impact

Tatum- fulcrum of the best offense of all time, but obviously the team is more egalitarian so less overall credit for him individually, but also he’s had some clunkers this year

Durant- probably the 3rd most consistent under Curry/Jokic, just steadying that franchise

Kind of a weird stat. This list is going to get added to really quickly. Not trying to diminish Tatum at all, but Luka isn’t even a league average 3PT shooter and is already at 778 and he’s still a year and a few months from turning 25.

It's a fun stat, but I don't think it's really indicative of anything other than the era in which Tatum came into the league and the fact that he's a high-volume three shooter.

    huge weekend catchup

Davis good. cautiously optimistic as they’ve only beaten bad/injured teams outside of Milwaukee, but this is ramping them up to make an actual run. Schroder has been steadying and the bench guys like Bryant/Reaves/Brown are settling into their roles

tried to focus in on Cleveland’s amazing defense and they laid an egg in New York lol. but i mean Jarrett Allen is good. they don’t have a reliable small forward and they can’t play switch, but it’s good enough of a regular season defense

New Orleans good, still must see TV.

Portland, Memphis, and Sacramento still rolling

    Denver, Chicago, Indiana tough weekend

zone in on Boston tonight vs Toronto, their conservative defense is so interesting. all about keeping the opponent off the break and getting into the break themselves. pretty much all halfcourt, makes sense why they struggled against strong halfcourt team like Miami

Phoenix so good, can’t wait to see them vs Dallas today

I still don’t think the Lakers are a serious title contender, as is. They just don’t have the consistent shooters you need to win games in the playoffs.

absolutely not. as is they are barely a play-in team

but this little mini-run is giving them what they need, which is hope. a little bit of hope goes a long way for them making another desperate short sighted trade that may fleece them long term but ultimately help make a short term threat.

Hield is becoming less and less of a possibility, but…

for those juicy future pick(s) + Nunn/Beverley: Jae Crowder is still out there, Malik Beasley is a good sell high candidate, Kenrich Williams not a shooter but good, Eric Gordon/Daniel Theis, Bertans/Bullock, Bojan Bogdanovic

    for Westbrook + pick(s): Doug McDermott/Josh Richardson/Jakob Poeltl, John Collins/Bogdan Bogdanovic, Duncan Robinson/Tyler Herro
