    Re: Boxing fans?

    Hey just saw your thread.

Yeah I'm a huge boxing fan.
Originally being from Youngstown, Ohio, Kelly Pavlik is the balls.

But I've loved boxing since I was a kid.

Yeah Pavlik is awesome. The first time I saw him was when he destroyed Zertuche and I've been a fan ever since. I'm pretty confident that he will be able to take out B-Hop also. Roy Jones or Calzaghe?

Calzaghe will win that fight against the aged Jones and then retire like a pussy cuz he's ducking Pavlik.
Seriously. He'd rather retire with his perfect record than lose to Pavlik.
    Thats not a champion.

I agree with you that neither Roy nor Calzaghe would take a fight w/ Pavlik, but I don't think that Calzaghe will beat Jones. JC has no pop whatsoever, and there is no way he can hurt RJ. I also think that even a faded Jones is faster and a better boxer than Calzaghe.

Saw a tweet a little bit ago from Yahoo's boxing guy that Smokin Joe has passed away. Haven't seen it elsewhere yet.

So do people still think Pacquiao is ready for Mayweather after last night's fight?

It really sucks that they haven't fought already. Two years ago, that fight would have been EPIC.

I feel like Mayweather may stop ducking him as Pac slows down.

I mean Pacquiao had the better last two rounds but at the same time I thought Marquez was winning the whole fight. There was no way that the refs would allow Pacquiao to lose... They have too much money to make based on Floyd Manny

just go to a bar or stream the fights for free online. mayweather/cotto was a good boxing match. i enjoyed it way more than bones jones/rashad evans. (just naming recent fights ive seen) it seems like all the big ufc events have been letdowns lately. but it's way more fun watching the no name guys than no name boxers.

this sports writer just said mayweather bets all the money they give him upfront on himself before each fight

no local bars ordered it by me. i didnt feel like going to boston or manchester, nh to watch it cuz i was already drinking. that was the first thing i checked though.

i read the fight review on bleacher report. sounded exactly how i thought the fight would go. mayweather would be on the defense, use his jab to stick and move, and not get near cotto at all.

i will purchase mayweather pacquiao if it ever happens. doesn't seems likely now...

mayweather is getting old, i dont want to see him fight pacman 5 years from now when he's 40...

Cotto fought tough as hell.. just seeing Mayweather sweat, bleed, and have to fight back entertained me.

i forget the exact punches but Mayweather threw like 100-200 more punches than Cotto

you're right. that's vargas fight was definitely the fight of the night.

Cotto's age is catching up with him. I took him too based on how's he looked with Freddie, but after I saw the size/weight difference on fight night, I knew I was wrong. Canelo looked like he put on 10-12lbs since the weigh in. Cotto will want a rematch, but like you said, Golden boy is setting up Canelo Golovkin which should be awesome.

I'm thinking Cotto has one or two more easier fights before he retires.

Yeah I thought Cotto would be more active and out-score Canelo, but clearly that wasn't the case.

Even if that GGG fight doesn't happen I don't think its a good move for Canelo to fight Cotto again. Then again Im not sure how many PPV buys that fight got saturday
