The distillery and Matthew’s in ROC are far from husker bars. They are restaurants lol.

I didn't call them husker bars. I called them watch parties. Walk into those bars on a Husker Saturday and the Nebraska game will be on and many Nebraska fans in attendance.

There are definitely 2-3 that bars in Austin that host big watch parties for Nebraska. Lavaca St Bar on S. Lamar (not Lavaca St) will have Nebraska on every TV, the PA system, and every seat in the house plus all the standing room will be packed with Nebraska fans.

Out of town watch parties for your school are so much fun. I went to a big watch party in New Orleans for Texas vs, ironically, Nebraska once. It was at a pool hall, so obviously not a "Texas bar" but they covered every pool table and turned them into regular tables to eat and drink on. Had a massive projector screen showing the game and had it playing on the PA. Well over 100 Texas fans there.

I mainly go to the BW3's here in DFW when I get to go. Well over 100 people for every game I've been to.

Totally agree with you on smart moves by the establishments. Theres no way they could attract that type of crowd on Saturday afternoon/evenings. The North Texans for Nebraskans is the largest alumni association for Nebraskans. Its really not that hard to believe that former alumni/Nebraskans/Nebraska fans want to hang out with each other every Saturday.

9/18/2010 - Wife and I flew ATL-MDW (Chicago) in the morning, drove to the Windy City Gators Club viewing of Florida-Tennessee at Bounce(?); 3 story restaurant/bar with rooftop, never seen so many Florida fans in one place outside a stadium or pep rally; Gators win. Then headed to Wrigley for DMB with GA Floor tickets, we took a spot in right field. Then hit up a bunch of bars around Wrigley; wife was the DD that night. And then back to ATL on a 5:30am flight, no hotel...out of town for less than 24 hours, great day.

Back in 2011, my future wife and I were in NYC for the Caravan weekend that had been delayed because of Hurricane Irene. We only had N3 tickets and wanted to be able to watch the UF-Tenn game on Saturday. We found a Gator bar in Manhattan called Sidebar and it was PACKED. And I know they have a couple other places around the city, too. Big schools like that always have a widespread alum base.

If the proposed 12-team playoff had been in place the last 3 seasons here's what it would have looked like in terms of overall bids:

SEC: 11
B1G: 9
Big 12: 5
ACC: 3
PAC-12: 3
ND and G5: 6

Of course, they might have made slightly different ranking decisions knowing the way it impacts a 12 team playoff vs a 4.

One of the crazier elements is that last year the PAC12 champ wouldn't have made it, as the official policy is the 6 highest ranked conference champs and last year both Cincy and Coastal Carolina finished higher than USC. It was a weird shortened year and obviously the norm will be all 5 P5 champs making it but it's interesting that at least in theory they don't have complete autobids.

I'd assume most of the time a P5 conference champ that goes at least 11-2 will get the benefit of the doubt over a second G5 team. Once you start getting to 3 loss P5 champs it could get interesting if we end up with two undefeated G5s. They like to collude/keep the powers happy but it would start to get blatant at that point.
