i’m more concerned by the years than the amount, but the amount is pretty brutal if they plan on using him as a trade centerpiece.

ultimately it looks like a loyalty move which is a bit puzzling, but hey if he lives up to it and becomes a positive value contract, he’s a bigger trade piece than previously imagined.

overall i dislike the move

This is how bad the 2019 NBA Draft was (I think): When I saw the Beverly trade, and saw Culver was in it, I was like that's great that the best player on that Texas Tech team that went far in the tourney found a job in the NBA. Turns out he was the 6th pick of the 2019 draft.

the 4/54 for Williams is a decent deal considering Allen screwed up the center market. he’s making just about as much yearly as Poeltl and Zubac who are similar quality players, though i believe slightly more


this Richardson one year extension is PUZZLING. actual wtf. gonna need to dive more into their future cap sheet bc i’m for sure missing something

Reddit is mostly clueless lol. i suppose it’s matching salary if you attach it to something super duper attractive which Boston has little of

i mean the only silver lining to this is that it makes the contract more “tradeable”, which doesn’t change the fact that if his value ranks on the court this year they’re super screwed

i feel like i for sure am still missing something so i hesitate to make brash judgements
