ya he's been pretty terrible so far for seattle. i don't know how people didn't see a drop in performance coming after going from a ballpark built for left handed hitters to a massive field that drains power like seattle. i never expected it to be this bad, but i never expected him to be anywhere close to his NY numbers.

agreed; although if he took NY's far smaller offer, i probably wouldn't mind so much. i dont blame him for taking a huge contract, can't fault the guy for setting up a few generations for life. sure would be nice to still have him in pinstripes though, stephen drew is, well, not good

    today in yankee history...

On June 2, 1925, Wally Pipp had a headache and popped a couple of Aspirin, so Lou Gehrig stepped in at first -- and "The Iron Horse" would not miss a game for the next 2,128 games. Said Wally Pipp: "I took the two most expensive Aspirin in history."

On June 2, 1935, The Great Bambino retired from baseball at 40 years old. With 714 HRs, a career .342 BA and 94 wins to his name, he would go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game.

Fell asleep in the 8th yesterday. Happy to wake up to a winner.

At least CC only gave up 2 runs, but he pretty much got hit hard, gave up 9 hits and 2 walks. He is a borderline MLB pitcher at this point. Can't stand days he pitches.

    Re: New York Yankees

I'll take 6-3 in the last 9 after that dreadful run we just had. Hopefully Tanaka stays healthy the rest of the year and Pineda keeps pitching well. Any time Sabathia wants to become at least an average pitcher again would be great.

I personally don't like seeing Robbie struggle, he's been my favorite player since he was a rookie, have an old 22 shirt with his name on it. Hate that he left but I understand wanting the bigger deal. I get he's been pretty awful thus far but he performed well last year, and it's only year two of the contract. Obviously with the Yankees' history of bad deals with A-Rod, Tex, CC, etc. we didn't want to give him 10 years but I still think we could've given him more than we were offering. As a Yankee I would expect him to be playing better in the hitter's park, with a better crowd and more comfortable environment. With us he was and projecting to be one of, if not the best, 2B of all time and I enjoy watching good players succeed. Hoping he can pick it up this month heading into the break.

To hell with Cano - Benedict Arnold bitch. I hope he finishes his career with a sub 300 average, 270 or so dingers and less than 1,500 RBI's - oh and I hope never gets another ring!

Seriously. I doubt all those people who said they should have just paid him have the same opinion. Good call by the Yankees letting him go.
