Re: Boston Red Sox

Didn't realize Sale gave up his number out of respect for Wakefield. What a great guy.

    Re: Boston Red Sox

I'm an all Philadelphia sports fan (including the Phillies) and a Sox fan. No, I'm not "that guy." My father was a huge Sox fan as was his father. He took me up to Fenway as a little kid (first time I saw a real grass field after only attending games at beautiful Veteran's Stadium and I was just blown away walking through the tunnel and seeing that field for the first time) and he told me all about his favorite player ever, Yaz and the history of the team. I fell in love. One of my favorite pictures is us at Fenway when I got older, monster in the background, him wearing his Yaz jersey I bought him and me wearing my Ortiz jersey.

That said there is one benefit to the Phillies not being good anymore. They have a promotion going that if you're a student (you don't have to prove it, only enter the university and what year you're in) tickets are $15 and come pre-loaded with a $12 credit for food and beverage in Ashburn Alley for any game in April or September. Score. Apparently I'm taking graduate courses right now and will attend the Phils-Braves Sat night game in a few weeks haha

    Sorry, that was loooongggg

I've been to Fenway hundreds of times and still get that feeling coming through the tunnel to the seats.

Then I get to my seat and I'm uncomfortable and squished for the next 3+ hours lol.

The Sox do the college tickets promo but I think you need to show an ID. They also have military tickets I still have my ID and they usually do not check the expiration date....

Yeah, those seats make your ass fall asleep by the 3rd inning haha. I know the student discount thing is normal and the Phils have done it before but also offering a $12 concession credit (or your first jawn is on us as they called it ) is a first at least as far as I've seen.

EDIT: Just added this deal for another night this coming Monday... it's also dollar dog night. $12 credit and $1 hot dogs..... going to crush some calories.
