I think only one person we know of has done Oasis, and they're not really active, but I think Graham and Sarah have pieced together a lot of the info you may want (they're staying there) so fire away on those questions... they can probably answer them.
Thank you! We are staying in Oasis...do we need to plan on a canopy for extra shade? Utensils for food cooking at shared grill? How far is your car parked in relation to your tent. How are the views from there? Thanks in advance!

I am taking a canopy for extra shade. I have seen pics of the communal shade area, and while it certainly seems nice, I want to have my own as well for times I’m not feeling so social.

The packet sent with the oasis pass specifically says that grill utensils will be available. However, regarding the grill itself: the oasis campground basically tripled in size for 2018. Did they add more grills? More communal shade areas? More showers/restrooms? These are crucial details I don’t have, but I will be emailing my vip rep Monday to find out and I’ll report back. If they are packing hundreds more people in there without adding more of those amenities, I’m gonna be pretty pissed because they also raised the price a ton too.

The literature makes it sound like your car is a couple hundred yards away, but the pics I’ve seen make it seem even closer than that; as in, very very close to your tent.

Views seem good but I don’t know.

Found this vendor site while googling camping; mentions additional vendors, and a new set of vendors by the main entrance that would work for Oasis and Gold camping:

Hey friends! Getting so close! Will be our first time out. Staying in Yakima and driving each day. Kinda meh about that but it is what it is. Anyway, I’ve seen it mentioned but just in passing, anyone with rave reviews on star parking? Worth it to get out of lots a bit easier? Trying to shave some minutes back after the shows if possible.

    Thanks!!

It’s worth it IMO. They give star parking its own exit lane on the way out.

If you want to buy star parking for Saturday, I have one for sale.

In 2016 I showed up around 1pm, just as lots were opening, and the LiveNation staff sold me one. I also upgraded to Plaza Parking--which is special in it's own way. Completely different lot ( and separate exit) and venue entrance AND they touted that Plaza peeps got in before the other Warehouse line at the main entrance. This was semi true. Also, to get either of the parking passes you will need cash.

Between Star and standard parking, how big is the different in terms of how long it takes to get out? Are talking hours or a difference of 30 minutes or so?

Also, how is tailgating in Star?

never tailgated, always just gone in

I might be confusing "star" with some other advanced parking option

I think Plaza is the parking that has it's own/priority out. I think Star is just up near the main gate; no other benefit.

Actually, go to posts #325 & #326 in the bigger Gorge thread, LN says there is priority exit from Star:

Star Parking from Live Nation site, so I assume it's still near the yellow section of my map above:

PARK LIKE A ROCK STAR: Priority EXIT is given for anyone with STAR parking so be one of the first to leave after the show from this lot. STAR parking is also the closest lot to the entry gate at the venue. Please note, this parking is a separate transaction and delivery from your ticket purchase. THIS IS NOT A CONCERT TICKET. THIS IS NOT A CAMPING TICKET.

Dmbolp.... Quick question about terrace... Is there lots of lighting at night and is it difficult/far walk to the bathrooms depending on where you are? Trying to figure out our needs for flashlights/lanterns. Thanks

As recent as 2014 I don't think there was any lighting, maybe a light coming from Premier and from the street. Restroom is a short walk, we used camping headlights. You do get some light from the moon.

Thanks for the responses on the star parking guys! It gets annoying that these venues have 2-4 levels of parking and some are worth it some aren’t. Will probably look at getting it at least Friday and see if it’s that good

Am I right to assume that I'll be able to get some last minute lawn tix for Friday night once I'm there? It seems easier to just deal with a face-to-face cash transaction now that it's getting so close.

I'll add - you can usually get them for 30-40 bucks right before the show. Sometimes lower than that too.

We aren't camping so I got one for each night through the Warehouse request. I thought something pretty close to the main gate that should allow you to get out faster was worth it for a place I've never been before.

But I agree the info on the parking is horrible. It wasn't even on a map until mid-way through the summer (I asked about it back at the beginning of the year and nobody knew),

I'm not much of a camper, so I'm still searching for the ideal sleeping gear. When I went to Bonnaroo it was so hot and it didn't really matter haha.

I'll be flying, so looking for something compact. Does anybody have recommendations on a solid and inexpensive sleeping bag or air mattress?

Hey, Ants! I'm in the FB group, "Pilgrimage to the Gorge" and I started putting together a Google Map for newbies to see what and where things are. Doing it from memory - and looking for your suggestions of things to add.
Not looking for this to be a super detailed map... but it could go that way!
