never gave that a second thought. Kind of wish Dave would of worked in "rain" in a bunch of places on songs like Dream Girl, Shake Me, Funny, Cornbread, Hunger, etc. I'll take a little repitition of the rain theme over awful lyrics.

I liked the first rain song. I can't remember what it is now. It's one of the reasons I never loved JTR.

I do like Cigarette Lit. Was there a maximum number of songs they could put on SD?

Now I have a great excuse to listen to SD again and see if I think it fits in.

Alright... I was thinking the other day about this song and what it's about. A lot of people tend to just say it's about Dave getting over his addiction to cigarettes. But the lyrics are very interesting. Like Dave saying, "...the rain falls down... you're not alone... so it covers all of us."

I'm going back and forth as to whether this is Dave saying that your actions can have concequences on everybody else around you. OR if it is Dave having a more empathetic tone towards anybody dealing with trouble in their life. Like you shouldn't worry about your troubles because everybody else has trouble in their life.

What do you guys think?

been grooving to this one a lot lately. fits very well for this time of year I think. most of SD does. I'd prefer Cigarette Lit over So Damn Lucky, Stay or Leave, and Baby.

I think I listen to it and like it as much as any other song I can think of. It is just so good and gives me faith that Dave can still write a good song (even though it's shockingly old at this point).

Does anyone know the story of how we got this track? I know the whole story about Dave saying it was too big for the album, but I'm curious of how/when it was leaked, and if it was ever brought to public attention like tLS and tBS.

I believe it was on an Australian radio promo disc for Some Devil.

The story is that it was on there because Cigarette Lit was on the tracklist for Some Devil until the very last minute before final pressing.
