The Wizards: They were decimated with injuries last year and they picked up Mike Miller and Randy Foye. They can turn heads if they stay healthy.

The Heat will also be much much improved if they pick up Boozer, which appears to be happening.

I don't take that as getting pounced on at all -- I was a little schocked at how my illustration of how great or terrible Orlando could be was so attacked, that's the pouncing I was talking about. I guess I should stay away from using numbers to illustrate more vague points.

I think Sheed was a great addition, even just for the headaches he'll cause Dwight.

Boozer to the Heat will be the biggest move of the offseason so far, I think. The Heat were already on the move up; If they add Boozer to that roster, I think you're looking at an instant finals contender in Miami.

There's your avatar if you lose. What's the specifics of the wager? # of wins? Playoff success? I think they're going to win 44-47 games and go out in the first round.

Fair enough. I'll give you the high end.....I'll say they'll win 48 games (even though I realistically think it'll be much more than that). The loser has to keep the avatar up for the length of the playoffs?

I'm going to do some searching for your avatar....

True story. I was surprised though, on how little of Walker's athleticism came back his sophomore year at Kansas State. Maybe he didn't rehab it well enough. Who knows. I haven't really seen him play since then.

Umm... if Odom leaves the Lakers, then Orlando is easily the best team in the league going into next season. The question in relation to the Carter trade was whether the Magic gave up too much in the frontcourt to justify it. With Bass, Anderson, Gortat, & Barnes, the frontcourt is more than justified, it's significantly, significantly better. As far as I know, Howard & Bynum are still working out together this summer, which means Bynum will get tougher and Howard will add some impressive offensive moves to his game. This means that the East won't be able to guard him... not O'Neal/Ilgauskas, not Perkins/Garnett/Wallace, and certainly not Jermaine O'Neal & Carlos Boozer (as good as that WOULD make Miami).

    Re: NBA offseason

Just heard that the Magic and the Knicks might be involved in a trade. J.J. and Anthony Johnson for Chris Duhon. The trade makes sense on paper, being that both J.J. and Beetlejuice are expiring contracts and the Magic need a back up PG.
