Re: *** Official Denver, CO 2022

Well that blows a bit.

Lets see if the small tour rumor nugget of denver being on a fall tour comes to fruition. And if so, id assume Ball Arena which i would love.

SMH. It's just mindboggling. I know they played Fiddler's in october in 2021. it's a high risk weather wise, but perhaps that's the plan. A late summer/early fall outdoor show. Not too keen on Ball Arena shows.

I really enjoyed my fall tour experiences this fall. Felt like the people in Portland and Omaha were actually fans and not out for a weekend of boozing on the lawn. So here’s hoping Ball Arena will have the same vibe.

Fiddler's has been a pretty engaged audience the last few years with a lot of people traveling to it as a destination show. It shows in the sets and song choices. #40, Halloween, Spoon, Just to a name a few rare ones.

How about Dillon Amp + Ford Amp Vail in the fall? Perfect time of year in Sept. Both are getting more shows the last few years with bigger names. MMJ 2 shows at Dillon last summer were awesome

they're not playing in CO in sept (and probably not oct either). a fall tour is going to be nov-dec, and it'd be absolutely freezing up there in nov. also, those venues hold like 4,000 people. there is absolutely no way a show there is happening. in fact, there is a negative chance of shows happening there.

calling it now. DMB week residency at red rocks to kick off fall tour in november. the cold will keep enough people away to make it more feasible to get tickets and red rocks schedule will be wide open for them to book it for however many nights they want.

This is all very true. I was trying to be a glass half full guy. But indoor DMB shows get a bad rap. Ball Arena will be fun (should it happen).

You think DMB is going to play an outdoor fall show at 9,000 feet? In venues that seat like 3,000-4,000 people.

I was disappointed to see no CO shows. I haven’t traveled to see the band since 2019, and probably won’t do so again.

Not sure if this has been said elsewhere, but the band seems to have deliberately targeted lesser-played destinations. Tour dates in Arkansas; Mississippi; Alabama; New Hampshire (2 nights); Wilmington, NC (2 nights); Charleston, SC (2 nights); Holmdel, NJ; plus Maine + Oregon where they’ve at least played before. My hometown destination - Blossom Music Center - where I first saw the band in 2003, was also snubbed.

I can’t see Ball arena being two nights. Do you think?

Two night stands in the fall seem only to happen on east coast.

fall tours are generally east coast only to begin with. ball arena isn't any bigger than fiddlers, so there is no reason why they couldnt do 2 nights there. its just a matter of if they want to and if the arena schedule permits it.

I needed this laugh. Red Rocks closes end of Oct and even if it stayed open, you think that would make it feasible?

They haven't played Red Rocks since 2005. People will come from all over so they'd have to play an entire week to meet the demand.

It sucks, but maybe it's not up to the band. The venue could be coordinating with other bands, so perhaps it doesn't work out. Or could be as simple as the band wants to see different places they haven't played before. Gives them a fresh boost for their tour.

Red Rocks did have 10 shows in November of 2022. I don’t think DMB will be playing then, but Red Rocks definitely doesn’t close down in October like it used to. AEG is sapping every last dime they can get out of that venue.

dmb would need to play like a baker's dozen series of shows to have any sort of impact on the demand. they would need to take requests and then schedule the shows to try to give everybody a chance.

playing the first 2 weeks in november would be more feasible than 2 weeks in the summer. first, red rocks has way too many shows during the summer for any extended multi-night stand. they would need to schedule the residency like 3 years in advance to make it work. red rocks already schedules weekends for 1-2 years in advance (summer 2024 is already silently being booked).

second, far more people would be willing to spend 1-2 weeks outside every night when its 90 and sunny in august than when its 30 and possibly snowing in november. sure, some people will try to do every show, but the fan base is old enough that they'd be willing to do it a couple nights but not deal with it any more than that. they'd get their red rocks fix for a couple nights to check it off the bucket list and then it would be someone else's turn in those seats.

there is no chance of that ever happening in any way unless the venue can figure out a security solution to allow the band to leave their equipment on stage every night. there's no way the crew would load and unload like 15 shows in 3 weeks there unless maybe their pay is quadrupled.

Most of the late year shows are EDM. And the audience can wear their furry outfits. Works great.

There’s like one new venue on the tour. A casino in CA. I guarantee THAT is what fucked up the denver dates. Those casino gigs must pay a lot. They booked it pre tour, and built west coast dates around it. Don’t get why they are doing such a short run. It’s like 7 shows.

    Hey peeps,

I might have an extra ticket for John Butler tonight at Paramount. Buddy is not feeling well so if he chooses to not go, I’d rather it not go to waste! Hit me up if you’re interested!

Anyone have any interest in an Eads poster from the 9/10/22 show? It's in perfect condition, I just couldn't find a good fit in my home size wise. I'd sell for face value, not trying to make a profit. PM me if interested.
