They're not going to jump straight from the Gorge to the Hollywood Bowl then back up to WA again for the PDX show.

PDX show is 9/4. DMB will be in Sacramento on the 7th.

DMB rarely plays shows at all on a Monday. I doubt they're suddenly double-booked on a Monday for a tour that they've already announced.

So they're just going to skip the Bay Area? Not a chance.

Also, they've played at the Hollywood Bowl on Monday in recent years. The fact they've announced the tour means nothing, because they're obviously going to add shows in Bay Area & So Cal.

The reason the SF shows are unannounced, is because the arena has still not announced Any shows yet, and are waiting to announce the official opening date. Based on their schedule, Monday & Tuesday seem most likely, before they head to AZ.

    Here is my guess:

Hollywood Bowl on either 9/9 or 9/16
Kaaboo on either 9/14 or 9/15

Not sure why everyone thinks Hollywood Bowl or Bay area is happening? They skip venues/ areas every summer (Pittsburgh and Cleveland this year).

They're going to announce the San Diego festival and that's it.

They didn't announce it in 2012 because it was the album release show. It was announced during the 2018 tour announcement.

Having spent a large chunk of my DMB days living in Orange County and seeing the band play in the area, when looking at if they 'have ever skipped LA' is how you define the 'LA' stop on the basis of the tours.

For many years, Irvine was the de-facto LA show and outside of the Home Depot Center years (2003-2005) and the handful of HB shows from 2006-2018, there has really never been a regular 'LA' tour stop. In 2000, they played Chula and San Bernardino, and I am pretty sure any self-respecting LA or Orange County resident would never classify San Bernardino as 'LA'. So in looking at if 'have they ever skipped LA', arguments can be made for some years when the 'LA' stop was in Irvine, but 2000 would be the one that would be closest to saying the last time the skipped LA, the Caravan and 2017 years not withstanding.

As for the Bay Area, the only year between 1996-2018 (again, the Caravan and 2017 years not withstanding) that this area was skipped out right was in 2009, with Shoreline getting skipped 5 times over that time same frame. The years that Shoreline has been skipped, The Greek up at Berkeley got three of those years, essentially keeping a show in the Bay Area.

Does any of that mean a damn thing this year that a late announcement adding stops in these two area is on the horizon, hell if I know. I would hedge my bet that one of the two areas will get a stop in that week-long break, which one... no clue.

Having lived in Orange County for all my years in California, I was always happy that Irvine was the 'LA' show. Dealing with traffic on a week night to go to a show in Cason, Hollywood, or downtown was always a nightmare.

Will say I always preferred going to Chula over Irvine too. The tailgate was always better at Chula and I liked the venue better.

I define LA area as reasonable driving distance from LA to said venue. San Bernardino and OC qualify. SD does not. There is a period of time between 09/07 and 09/22 where they are supposedly only playing Phoenix - not buying it.

Bottom line, I hope that something is announced and there is a stop somewhere between LA and SD. Has anyone been to the new FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine? Could that be a possibility?

No chance. Too small, and it's essentially a temporary facility with metal bleachers and folding chairs.

It’s not THAT small, but the bleacher seats blow and the sound is awful.

I think with the announcement of Beale St, they are doing more festivals this year. Outside Lands is Aug 9-11, in the middle of FL to CO break. Kaboo make sense as well.

It's too small for DMB. About 11K seating compared to Irvine Meadows' 19K, which they always filled completely.
