Day 1 was great! After landing in Orlando around 11:30, we Went to Disney Springs in the early afternoon to get some lunch, then came back to the Contemporary to clean up and get ready for Mickey’s Not So Spookie Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. What a blast! The park looked awesome lit up in Halloween lights and decor. Short lines for some of the good rides.

Today is Animal Kingdom day, followed by a luau at the Polynesian

What are your thoughts on the Contemporary? I’m dying to stay there for our next trip but my wife and kids want to go back to the French Quarter. I loved the FQ too but it’s a bucket list item for me to stay there.

Checked out Contemporary when we had dinner at California Grill. It looks sharp. Cali Grill is a must go-to. Amazing food.

Its quite nice. I havent stayed at a Disney hotel in yearrrrrs, nor have i ever stayed here. Its great having the monorail right there. Our rooms have a view of the lake behind the hotel, and the space in the rooms is great, very modern

We are sharing a connecting room with my inlaws which is perfect cause when the 2-year old goes to sleep, we have another room and balcony to hang out on without leaving the immediate area

If I ever pay more than a moderate I think I'd do Boardwalk or one of the ones around there. Contemporary is gorgeous but I'd rather have the convenience of being close to two parks staying at Boardwalk.

Just got back last night. Stayed offsite at a Hilton grand vacation club property for first three nights then moved to the Polynesian for the last 4 nights.

Kids loved it; my oldest (4) did not like really any rides with any sort of thrill component whatsoever. Rider swap ftw, she was the mvp of the weekend for getting all of us extra rides.

Polynesian is an awesome resort but we really didn’t do much there other than sleep. We did have one pool day there and the pool area and kid area is great. O’Hana dinner also was very very good. Kona cafe was pretty good too.

Favorite breakfast was Akershus, favorite lunch was probably be our guest and favorite dinner was ohana. Caveat that we didn’t explore much for breakfast because we ate in the club at the Polynesian every day we stayed there.

I was on my phone yesterday--I shouldn't have presented as though we did nothing. As I said, we did eat breakfast there every day, took advantage of the boat to magic kingdom and GF several times, spent an entire day swimming there, and swam post-park on two different occasions. One night they had a halloween party for the kids and we did that. so upon further reflection, we did take advantage of the resort a good bit, and I agree that it was a very nice spot to be.

First details on Marvel attractions at California Adventure.

    https://wdwnt.com/2018/10/breaking-f...eyland-resort/

Very interesting that the Spider-Man attraction seems to have a lot in common with Midway Mania since they will both be in the same park.

Heading back down in 2 weeks. My sister is celebrating her 25th year there so in typical Disney fashion they do a killer party. If its your 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th etc. they shut the MK down for the night. Incredible food, open bars, and some of the characters you don't see out that much. Each cast member can bring one guest. Can't wait should be a great time. Of course they do a video for it as well https://disneyverve.com/app/uploads/...Event-2018.mp4

    That's cool!

Wonder if my dad will get to do that next year. All he ever wanted to do in retirement was work for Disney so he has been part time for 10 years.

Works out great since when he retires from his retirement job in May he keeps his pass benefits for life.

Did anyone catch the Mickey's 90th Spectacular last night on ABC? There was a cover of 'Friend Like Me' from Aladdin and I swear I saw Rashawn Ross on the trumpet up there.. Anyone else notice this? I cannot find anything online to confirm or deny this.

Returned home recently from our second family wdw trip
7 nights at PO Riverside (10/27-11/3) with visits to the 4 parks twice each
We had the time of our lives on the 1st trip 2 years ago and we were worried a second one wouldn’t live up

    We were wrong

    The place just delivers
I can’t imagine not going back again (even driving from/back to Northern Indiana)

We loved virtually every minute of it

Hit Toy Story Land and did Slinky Dog Dash at opening with no issues on Monday. Enjoyed Slinky more than Snow White Coaster. I assume that next year when Star Wars opens it won't be very hard to get fastpasses/lines will be shorter.

Arrived at parking lot at 8:10. Gates open at 8:30, walk to Toy Story at 8:40, off ride by 9:10. Pretty sure that would work for any non magic morning day.
