The Casual DMB Fans Thoughts on Tim

w/ the full band, that is. I know most die-hards aren't a fan, I'm a rare one that loves it. But I'm curious as to insight into the casual fans opinion.

From what I've heard is that casuals love him. I am somewhere in between. I've certainly enjoyed his contributions to 2023.

I wish Buddy wouldn't use synth violin. Other than that, he's great.

It is taking a bit of time for the band to re-discover their groove and chemistry w/ the new players.

Before the DMB time is done I would love to see Rashawn/Buddy go back to the pop music scene they came from, have Tim retire and hire a violin player for their last run.

Would be fantastic, but among the things that Dave has proven, one is that he's not nostalgic.

How are they still “gelling”? Tim and Jeff have been in the band for 15 years now. Rashawn for 17 years. Buddy just wrapped up year 6. This is who they are now, for better or worse. All a matter of personal taste at this point.

To some degree yes but I think this lineup has improved in their playing together each year since 2018, regardless of song choice comparing their performances at the Gorge in '18 to this year was night and day

    Yeah right?
tim has been "a part of" dmb since it started- even BEFORE it started, the relationship between tim and dave.

Tim works way better with DMB when they have keys. He was trying to do way too much before.

An acoustic tour with Dave, Tim, Carter, and Stefan would be so dope.

Those sets were the best they've sounded since Roi died.

Agreed. Dave focuses on his vocal tone more too in that setting too, which is nice!

I think I'd prefer DMB 6 again. Keep Buddy on the piano and loose the electric guitar. Or have Tim play acoustic. Honestly, no reason why not.

I think casual fans don't even know there's not a fiddle in the band or that boyd departed. Also they always ask what happened to that guy that played saxophone? He was so good.

Plus, "man I used to love DMB, that song they did with John Popper, remember Blues Traveler? Oh man. I saw them so many times in the 90's. I don't remember any of it. and Carter bewford.. God... He's like really really good at drums right?!"

Their opinion means nothing to me.

Like we all hated Butch, then suddenly we miss him, I think Tim on acoustic will eventually wish he was on electric again. We’d miss an electric guitar eventually. BUT, it would be GREAT if Tim and Dave started doing acoustics on E1s. That I’d love to hear, lots of DMB/Dave solo songs that they could do on E1s together, of course Tim switching back onto electric to close out the night. THAT I think would never get old.

You need to come right back at them with "You're nailing it. Bewford is a god."
