That was my thought too. Roi's too quiet for my tastes. So right hast that quacking riff, I dunno it didn't scratch the itch I thought it would. I'm happy it is hitting for everyone else at least!

This Live Trax is just amazing. I personally think the mix sounds awesome and I’m very picky. Not sure how people can say Roi is too low I think you need to try different headphones or something because he’s perfectly prominent. Who plays the electric guitar solo on Watchtower? On the Almanac it doesn’t mention a guest. If that’s Butch playing keyboard then…damn

Yeah it's Butch, a la Folsom Field. It sounds so damn good.

I really enjoyed this show. Might be my favorite of the 2001 releases. The worst I can say about it are the bad songs (Angel, True Reflections) are still bad...and Tawatha makes 'em worse. But she does crush it on Don't Drink the Water!

This version of If I Had It All really opened up the song for me. I went from eh to I love it now. And love the So Right. Great release.

The Don’t Drink the Water on this isn’t getting enough attention. This beats Central Park as my new favorite version. Just loving the mix on this. I think Butch could be slightly more prominent but otherwise near perfect mix. Love this version of the band.

This release, LT31, and Folsom have convinced me that '01 was DDTW's best year. It had more power than the early versions (which were too sluggish and sedate,) but still had that brooding, grim feel to it.

glad to hear people are loving this release. between this show and lt31 i'm coming to the opinion that 2001 is the best the band ever sounded. obviously the sets were too ED heavy to call it the band's best year, but the performances are just fantastic.

I generally agree about 2001 being a good year but if we compare this release with the other two of the same year, one can argue if this album really brings anything relevant to the catalog.

Folsom Field is a classic and LT31 is a pearl. This one also loose something (IMO) in terms of overall sound quality

Well, it's also the way the mixed these releases.. They sound really good, warm, separation of instruments.. And of course the performances are fantastic. The pacing of the songs really changes things.. They aren't rushing through anything.. Every note it played intentionally.. And Boyd really shines.. He was definitely top notch in 2001.. It makes me wonder when things really took a turn for him.. 04-05? Drugs? I'd argue he was a big factor in the issues the band was having during that time period..

I can't put any single year as the best year, and yes the heavy ED songs really put a damper on the ability to call it the best... But it's better performances than 2000.. and a light fun energetic approach to it.. whereas 2000 has some heavy darkness and the shows could drag at times.. Especially when they'd start with a 20 minute seek up into a 12 minute heartbeat intro... eating up 30 minutes of show time with 1 song essentially..

I love more Roi, more Butch shows. Bring them on. This release really captures Everyday songs well.

Yes. Might make Everyday in the consideration for the 4th Big album.. 20 years on.. It has aged exceedingly well.

Everyday is not as good as Busted Stuff much less tLWS. But I've gotten over that anger of the band scrapping tLWS for Everyday.

I really like every iteration of this band. I don't want to look back and say I wish it was like this, BUT this show is certainly making me remember WHY I am/was obsessed with this band. It's never going to be like it was.. BUT damn it was good in it's prime. This Watchtower is killer. So is Two Step. So is Angel ... which has never been said.

They aren't even bad now. I like 4.0 and have accepted what they've become.. And still think they put on the best show around with few exceptions.. THEY Are the reason we all have high expectations for sets/jams etc... I think Dave has been trying to tell us in so many words that it's not ever going to be like it was.. It's what it is now.

I'm sure it's only temporary. But with CDs slowly dying, you might not want to fuck around with supply and demand here on out.

I barely got my copy of Hollywood Bowl '18. I suspect they sold off their emergency stock which is how I got mine thinking they'd restock it.

It’s still available on the Warehouse website. It’s hard to navigate to it though, the website sucks lately.

You are the greatest. I couldn't find it for the life of me. Was trying all different search options. Their store needs a serious overhaul!
