I've got eps 1 and 2 on the PVR right now and this thread does nothing to make me anticipate watching them. Might wait until the penultimate week and then binge watch leading up to the season finale. This is the first season I haven't skipped watching live and waited for the Blu-ray, because it's just not good enough for that anymore.

Yea, I forgot all about that side plot, and honestly I'm not sure I'd have even noticed if they never went back to it and those characters never came back.

You definitely have no idea what’s going on since that was Gabriel with the doctor.

I think he got sick during the first half of the season and they revisited it with a quick three second clip in the episode intro. Which is pretty much what they’ve done with every side story for the last three seasons.

It was Gabriel with the doctor, not Morgan, and he had a bad infection. The doctor said the infection affected his vision and had the potential to be permanent.

It was a very contrived story arc and an even more contrived way to kill off the doctor everyone forgot about so the doctor Coral saved could save the day.

And how exactly is Negan’s plan going to work? It’s been long established in this universe that blood/guts don’t infect people. The number of times people have killed walkers and been splattered all over with blood is innumerable. This isn’t 28 Days Later.

catapulting zombies is worth the plot hole I guess. it would make more sense to just find their water source and contaminate it, or catapult loads of zombie guts onto their farmland

I dont either, but when Rick isn't in the episode the plot doesn't advance. When Rick IS in an episode, it only advances about 50% of the time anyway, so it sucks when he's not present

If that were the case wouldn't they have been infected when the put the guts on them to travel through hordes. It's been done a few times in the show already, so I don't see why they'd be getting sick now. Unless it's been so long they have become toxic, but that the only way it seems to make sense.

yeah I thought about that too tonight but the timeline is so much shorter than people realize. I posted this a while ago, but again...the seasons in between the fall of the prison and the arrival at Alexandria, while it was like 3 seasons, it was only a couple of months. I feel like Glen died forever ago, but it's only been like 4-6 weeks in show time. my wife is thin like Maggie, she didn't "show" for like 5-6 months. Put on a baggy shirt and nobody would know

Yea I think this whole season 8 is taking place in three days time or so. So it really hasn't been that long.

The fact that the show has only advanced a couple months since they arrived at Alexandria just prices the writers and show runners have absolutely no idea where they’re going after they stick a fork in the Negan storyline. There’s been so much bullshit filler, it reminds me of school when I would have to ramble on in a paper because there was a minimum word requirement.

Rick has one blind shot on Negan and hits him in the damn shoulder. I get that they're not ready to kill Negan yet, but stage the fight better so that Rick doesn't have a blatant shot to take his damn head off and doesn't take it. Again.
