Totally agree hope they took some risks with them and they can be expanded on live if they are going to be short. Good point!

That’s not how it was described to me at all. I mean it could be a uke song I guess? But that’d be odd based on how it was described honestly haha

Got it on the white board there was a song that ended in (
-tion (I believe) and had Uke next to it so that’s where the theory came from. So certainty far from rock solid.

I saw a message from you the other day saying Revolution was upbeat and like a lot of upbeat Dave songs lately. I thought maybe that means about sex like Shake Me or something was where you were going with that but any chance you can expand now?

I said this before. Dave could use some pedals. Expand the style.

I’m guessing it’s either After Everything or Looking For A Vein (Veins-Heart correlation??)

    42 minutes and 42 seconds.
    Aggressively mild take incoming:

Personally, I'm really excited to hear this thing. In my mind, the bolded tracks are all good-to-great songs with a clear point of view that feel additive to their library.

It's also nice that we already know we're getting at least 4 tracks that can fill power spots in their live show. TOT and WATM would make great openers - and BF and MME could really be played anywhere.

While the track lengths are definitely interesting (assuming they're accurate), I'm feeling like they've earned the benefit of the doubt based on the quality of what we've heard so far (note: I've only heard STTMB once but didn't come close to having the passionate feelings everyone else seems to have on that track)

What is the nature of the insiders for Ants? How many degrees of separation are we talking here? We are very lucky regardless to have them. But weird that things can change so much at the last second.

I hope if the insiders know any more info about any of the new songs, anything at all, please tell us. We have to wait 4 MONTHS to find out, that's a long time to not get any info. If DMB doesn't want rumors spreading or info getting out they should have just dropped the whole thing already. That's my .02

Like...are the songs we haven't heard (the new ones) all DEFINITLEY brand new? Or is possible one of them is an old song that was retitled? I'm assuming it's all totally unheard but just curious

Pretty sure it’s been confirmed every song originated from the 2020/22 sessions except Break Free (obv).

Yeah, I've tried to be clear multiple times that that was just some wild-ass speculation on my end, just by trying to piece together bits of partial info here and there. I have no reason to believe that it's actually the case, and would 100% defer to Bruce about that.

I really hope they drop a bonus disc or a second follow up album pretty soon after the album releases.

There is no reason STTMB and SFTW should be on this album, but they are. He openly admitted he wasn't the happiest with how Come Tomorrow came together, but this feels like the exact same thing. I think everyone was expecting more, but in the grand scheme of things, this band just wants to tour and play songs they are comfortable with. The days of BTCS and even BW are over. Just be happy they still tour and enjoy doing it.

Someone on here (Cscott perhaps?) had speculated that there may have been a tune from the Away from the World sessions that was worked on in 2020. Wonder if that ever came to fruition and if we’ll ever hear it.

Well we know for a fact they revisited A Dream So Real due to the white board. (Which would have sent me Walking on the Moon with excitement by the way!)

CT and Stand Up are the only albums that would get way better if some songs were just not included.

Every other album I am glad every song that was put on them are there.

Nope, fwiw I dig it quite a bit actually. Can't Stop is an abomination (and one of the 2 or 3 worst songs they've ever written) but for the most part the rest of the album I enjoy and still listen to on somewhat regular basis.

Longtime reader, first time poster. The last album I was really excited about was Big Whiskey. I was one of those bad people who downloaded the April Sessions because I couldn't wait. Since then, I've always been happy when they decide to drop a new album, but it genuinely doesn't matter to me.

For me, they are a live band through and through. I will occasionally listen to a studio album (usually BTCS), but typically I just randomly select one of the stupid amount of Live Trax I have on my phone and I'm good to go.

I don't really know where I'm going with this, other than I get that there's consternation over song times and what didn't make the cut and so on and so forth, and all of that is valid. But it's also going to be alright. We're all going to buy it, we're all going to enjoy it to varying degrees, and then we're all going to hit at least one stop on the tour and have the time of our lives as always.

The obvious guess is break for it but I imagine they never intended on using that and Break Free.

Neither of those I’m thinking of one that was actually on a track list at one point.

I will say Bismarck was apparently considered and dumped and that just stinks. I just don’t think Dave likes it very much anymore

Given this and what Chad said it makes me think that Dave couldnt get it to sound the way he wanted so he just gave up.

Alot of my complaints and worries would go away if they would just release new material regularly even if it was every 2 years. 6 year stretches lead to disappointment and over analyzing. Regular releases would chill everyone out imo.
