Re: Bismarck

I'm indifferent about Bismarck being left out from this upcoming album but realize I'm in the minority, would prefer it over Break Free, would prefer Break for It over either of them

The thing is, with Break Free and Break for It, we have some well mixed great performances live. Arguably definitive performances for each. And we also have that awesome looped version Dave did for Live from Home by Request.

We have none of that for Bismarck.

See what you've just described are all positives imo, but again I'm in the minority here and they should get Bismarck out someway somehow for all the fans that want it

There are many reasons why they should just release C'Ville 2016 as a Live Trax. It's the 25th anniversary show. It's a great show. C'Ville doesn't have any modern releases. It has Bismarck.

    Just release the damn show.

This 1000%...besides the (3) debuts (which happen to be some of the best live versions of Sam Cop, Bismarck, and Bob Law) the show had a great setlist and energy.

This would be my top choice for the next issued live trax.

If DMB would like to print some extra money, they’d release a 7” of either MME or Monsters with Bismarck as a B-side. I would imagine those would sell mighty well.

Can you imagine if they released a crap ton of jam sessions from rehearsals or sound checks? They could make a killing and make us so happy. They’ve already made a killing so they should be more focused on keeping us happy. Lol.

    Sad part. They won’t.

lol, this may not be true, but also kind of? like when he says "this is a tinnyyyyy song, i hope you like it, i like it, i hope you don't hate it, i hope we don't disappoint you, it's so tiny." what a dweeb.

anyway, still heading to several shows this summer and hope to hear Bismarck and all the new music too, so I guess, why should he change?

Just watched a video on youtube of this recent performance… I still cannot stand the verses. Way too wordy. Dave cannot sing the song as its current written. I like the chorus and what Carter and Jeff add to it but its so sloppy live. I’d prefer to just not have it take up a slot in a setlist tbh.

I just wish they put a studio version out in WATM. The fact that they are already playing it this year but didn't makes even less sense

But surely better than When I'm Weary, Come Tomorrow, and Here on Out. So could have been on CT. And I would say it is definitely better than Singing from the Windows and Something to tell My Baby, so could have been on this one.

WATM has such a short run time that it could have been on it without removing those boring songs.

Probably the catchiest chorus Dave’s written since the 90s IMO. Would kill for a 4:30ish min studio version with that sax solo section included.

Knowing this band, they’d change the chorus for no reason, add some odd vocal effect, and chop the sax, with a 3:07 run time.
