I listened to the new album a few weeks ago and besides the single, it was a snoozer.

So he's only playing the last three albums this tour? He's performing in my area in November, and I'd really like to see him, but not if it's going to be like this current tour.

The ‘Just Passing Through’ tour is totally different than Part of the Light. It’s an acoustic albeit solo performance, that is highly recommended. I’ll be going to the Birmingham show and potentially Savannah if the set lists vary. Just in case you didn’t see, pre-sale starts tomorrow at 10 AM local time and the password is ‘simplething’

Yeah the Just Passing Through tour is incredible. Definitely worth going. I skipped on the Part of the Light tour since I had no interest in hearing only stuff from his last three albums.

I'll be at the Birmingham and possibly Huntsville, Al shows.

Went to the tour closer last night. He sounds exactly like how he does in the studio. Great show. I'm glad you guys told me his solo tour is different than his album tour. Thanks for that

The Birmingham show was great, and the Secret Sisters were awesome too. He's got such unique vocal styling, that in my opinion, might even be better live than in studio.

Ray's new album, Monovision, is fantastic. A return to the more acoustic and stripped down Ray that many of us fell in love with.

I've listened to Monovision a couple times this week, and I think it's his best album in 10 years

I agree. His best offering in many many years.

Great return to his roots. I wish there were some darker tunes (a la "Empty') but overall, a great return to form.

10 yrs might be a stretch since "God Willing" has been in the past 10 yrs and that might be his best album period. But certainly since that album no question. The first 6 songs are really solid, a great start to the album. Really enjoyable and then it peters out a little towards the end of the record, but overall very good. Apparently he wrote and produced the whole thing himself. Played all instruments as well.

Thanks for posting about this, was off my radar. Listening to Strong Enough right now and damn, so much CCR. Enjoying it. Looking forward to hearing the whole album.

    We're on the same page

That's what I was going for with my "best album in 10 years" since God Willin' came out in 2010. As much as I'm enjoying Monovision, it's no God Willin' & the Creek Don't Rise.

Really pumped to see Ray in Durham, NC tomorrow night. 3rd time seeing him and second time in a more stripped down theater setting. Loved the Monovision album and I think this setting will be perfect to showcase the tunes.
