Understandable... and I get why he deleted those after the fact. Trolls going to troll.

Hes talking about this site.. hes talked shit on it before. He only likes the dmb fam that drools over everything and isnt allowed to be critical or honest.

There used to be that group of women who slurped up on him every day on twitter. Are they still around?

Wasn't trolling when I was talking about him being replaceable. He has the least unique tone out of the original 5 members of the band. That's not a slight at him, it was more pointing out that everyone in this band besides Dave and Carter are replaceable to an extent. Also wasn't knocking his contributions to the songwriting (i.e. Dreaming Tree) but if you got Oteil Burbridge in there from Dead & Co. he could learn it and play it just fine.

Not a troll, just trying to have a critical conversation about the band. If Stefan can't handle that, maybe he should stay off Ants for a while.

My apologies, I was not trying to imply that you were.. just that he has to put up with that element, and if you try to make an honest post, it's going to get lumped in by him. I definitely should have clarified that.. sorry man.

I can totally see that they thought this was coming, but no decision from him. Sounds like he had to make a call before the Night Before show. Who the hell knows. It'll all come out at some point, but it'll take some time. Just like with Butch and his reasons for jumping ship on the tour back in '08.

Yeah, I've seen him call people out before and I think it's an overreaction to at least 75% of what I've seen. He could handle it better than he does. If it were me, I would just get off of twitter if I were in his shoes and couldn't handle it.

What's hilarious to me is that in the last few days, the fam has been the most "this band is fucked" more than any other group I've seen. It's pretty funny to watch the reversal.

Fonz gave us The Dreaming Tree, Boyd brought True Reflections, a song that was once thought of as DMB’s weakest song pre-Everyday.
Maybe he is replaceable if they actually replace him. Just having a void stage right obviously didn't work.

I've though about this. Realistically, Carter is going to have to call it quits at some point, hopefully we get another 5-10 years. After that, Dave will only be maybe 60, he'll keep touring obviously solo and D&T. I think at that point doing some tours with Dave & "Friends" or whatever would be cool. Especially if it's Dave, Tim, Stefan and a few new people. Would be cool to see Trey involved, but not sure what he'll be up to at that point.

haha, yeah, that's on him. I'm not gunna expect that from the man. Neil Peart retired at 65, I'm expecting somewhere around there. But I would welcome him for as long as he's up to it

I'm not saying that is why they put the elephant as the tour art. I just was commenting that it was ironic.

However, changing the title of this thread to the Elephant in the Room would also be funny... and ironic.

I have to say, I find it amazing (and disappointing) that Warehouse and/or the band's management have still not said a word. I understood not releasing anything over the weekend but, still nothing?

I’m not even sure DMB knows what they’re going to do moving forward. They’re probably going to try a bunch of new arrangements with and without fill-ins.

I think it's pretty strange too. I don't believe this "take a break" thing and certainly don't think Boyd will back. Dave's addressing the situation at the show was nothing more than simply being polite.

Yes it was Brady Blade. My uncle actually recorded a song with him recently and called to tell me about it since he knew I was a big DMB fan.

Re: The Decision: Boyd Leaving DMB

lost a lot of respect in Boyd the last 10 or so years anyway. his playing has been garbage, so it makes sense that he'd be canned. but to do it like this...this is shitty. fans bought tickets to the shows expecting DMB...

doubt ill see them again either way. this band is gonna live on for me through old recordings.
