Marwin and Dalbec suck at the plate. For the 3 or 4 great hitters that we have, there's about the same of shitty hitters on the team.

Not going to get overly excited about them sweeping a bad team but they did what good teams should do. I'd like to see them play better against the tougher competition.

The yanks aren't 'bad' just because they aren't as good as everyone thought they would be. Sweeping them in NY is nothing to sneeze at. Sox are also 15-9 against teams >.500. That's a better winning % than their overall.

We'll see how they're looking by the end of this month though. Another series with Houston coming up then the Jays... Rays/Yanks at the end of the month... should be interesting.

AL East is a good division, awkward spot for a team that’s in a sort of rebuild that’s over achieving

To paraphrase your point "Well the Red Sox are good against teams above .500 like the Yankees who can't hit so that shows they are good against better competition" .... obviously using teams above .500 to measure how they are against the top teams in the AL is not the best way to do so.

Yes sweeping the Rays is good, in fact it's better than beating teams barely above .500 who can't hit

>.500 is a quick/easy measure... of course, you would need to look deeper into the splits to see that they are still good against teams at the tippity top of that >.500. And my larger point was that they yankees aren't THAT bad and sweeping them in their ballpark is very good.

It's still early though with a tough few weeks ahead.

That last hit, throw low and away (to a lefty) when playing pull to right. Annoys the hell out of me the positioning when they’re giving an opposite field hit up like that. Don’t know why there isn’t more intentional opposite field hitting, if that’s possible

She's probably ashamed that you're not a Pats fan.

My kid grew up at just the right time. She was 6 when the Sox won in 2004 so she got to experience the genuine excitement of something every Boston sports fan waited their entire life for.
