The good news for the Rays is that the crowd won’t look any different than normal with a 9,000 seat capacity

I had to ask why it was a day game yesterday and my coworker reminded me it was their hone opener. I just looked at him and asked why it mattered what time they open the gates of nobody’s coming regardless

I think the offense will show up. The starting pitching I’m not as optimistic about. The bullpen has been outstanding though.

Germán sent down to the alternate site. Bullpen is taxed, they probably just want to call up another arm. But I don’t want him back lol.

Worth pointing out, RBI single by Gary Sanchez in extra innings. Not a bad 2021 start.

are they? It's April 12th. and he's the best hitter on a bad hitting team. What is there to say? If he plays well, great! If not, fuck him.

i hope he keeps it up but they've played 9 games. lotta players have good 9 game stretches and bad 9 game stretches.

i dont expect the yankees to be a sub .500 team like they are 9 games in, its too small a sample size to make any really foregone conclusions

I'd be absolutely fucking thrilled if Gary could have a year like he had in 2016-2017. But recent history tells us that he is on one of his 3-4 hot streaks he will have all year, and the rest of the time will be a lazy, unmotivated mess of a performance. Again, I'd happily be proven wrong because that means the team will be better.

The types of reactions we get in this thread on an almost daily basis during the season make me question whether people have actually watched a 162 game season unfold over the course of 7 months.

I know, I just saw the work Gary put in in spring training and hopefully it's manifesting now. His ceiling is too high to give up on.

I assume you guys have enough pitching anyway but Garrett Whitlock has a lot of potential, too early to tell but the Yankees might have given up something valuable

Two relief appearances against the Orioles, slow down. I do hope the best for him though.
