I agree with you on his voice, but you can't take what you saw on the webcast as comparing it to actually being there. You of all people should know that.

True - Didn't look or sound good... Perhaps lowered my expectations enough to have a good time. Wanted 2 things from Tampa: 1) Dave to not have voice issues w/ WPB coming up, and 2) No ladies w/ WPB coming up. 2/2 was ok having not been at Tuesday....

Dave's voice is shot because they've played almost 100 more songs at this point in the tour than they did last year. But you all still demand more.

7/26/2004 Raleigh, NC (previous show was in Charlotte, NC)
8 repeats out of 18 songs

7/29/2000 San Bernardino, CA (previous show was in Chula Vista, CA)
6 repeats out of 17 songs

8/5/1998 Columbus, OH (previous show was in Burgettstown, PA)
12 repeats out of 15 songs (granted, two of those were ASTB & PNP, so call it 10 repeats out of 13 songs)

Hmmm, maybe it has always been like this.

Well 98 had only 3 albums
    2000 had 4(including LWS)
    2004 had 5

I can see why there were a lot of repeats back then but now they have 8 studio albums and about 1.5 albums worth of songs that came during different tours so I don't think it's a good argument. That 04 raleigh show is Amazing tho.

You're forgetting the band has put 4 albums since the bottom two and 3 since 04. Also the top two still didn't have 10 repeats... Especially right after an article with Dave saying he looks through all of song stats as he's making the set.

Let's take these convos to the appropriate threads.

I'm not not arguing that they can't play less repeats, or that they shouldn't play less repeats. I'm arguing that we should stop being so surprised at the number of repeats. I would think that anyone who follows this band would have noticed this trend by now. It's been 20 years.

I'm not forgetting anything. All I said was, people shouldn't be surprised when there are 6+ repeats from 1-nighter to 1-nighter, because the band has never/rarely demonstrated anything different. If anyone thinks this is a false assertion, I welcome the data.

I think the sets have become predictable because of the acoustic set. Certain songs are played at the beginning, middle, and end of both sets. One large set was a larger canvas to paint IMO.
