So by spreading my potential work day across a 15 hour timeline (6am to 9pm potential working time), I'm constantly being refreshed by not being chained to my desk. I only work efficiently for so long. But this way I can put in 10-12 hours a day fairly easily.
Yeah, no, that's not for me. Once I'm done with work for the day, I'm done. I value that decompression time. There's no way I'm voluntarily logging back on at 8 p.m. regardless of what break I took during the day.

Working from home has been pretty flexible for me. I usually work 8-4. Sometimes I have to go into the office later afternoons that leave me there into the evening, so I don't work the mornings.

When people are posting their times, like 9-4, are those just your "hours" on the clock, or are you actually working for that whole period of time? B/c I feel like there's a difference. Especially with remote work.

Oh, yeah. I don’t work the entire time. Hour lunch then a few breaks throughout the day to do shit around the house.

I think it's super career dependent. For my particular career, I'm pretty much on call at all times and can have very long days, but on the flip side, there are definitely days where I have no work to do at all.

I don't literally work 9-5:30, there's breaks, slow days like today where it's quiet and others where I work past regular hours with less than a 10 minute break at my desk. It's not very consistent.

Just to be clear, I asked that b/c I definitely know a few people in my social circle that are so overloaded, they literally work 9-5 or 9-6 with maybe a 20 min at the desk lunch.

Yes that is my position as well. It can change on a dime, sometimes I need to go into the office too, which I enjoy for a change.

I have not set hours at home. Some days, I work starting at 10am and I am done at 5pm. Other days, I start at 8am and I am done at 5:30pm, but then I pick back up at 8pm when the kids got to bed. Depends on my work load.

Teacher: The official day is 8:30 - 3:30. I usually stay for at least 45 minutes after the kids leave. Sometimes I'm there until 6-7. I also work 182 days a year, so no complaints from me.

I mean, for me it's not line of work dependent. Once I turn off for the day, from a work perspective, no way am I going back.

Same. And I don't think I would ever choose to work somewhere that any of the above was expected or occurred on a frequent basis.

Yes. Thursday I worked 7:30-7:30 with a 20 min desk lunch. Scheduled 8-4.

I have some flexibility in choosing my hours. They open the office at 6:00 a.m. for the housekeepers. I generally get here around 6:30 to 6:45, before the assholes, I mean coworkers come in. I get most of my work done then. By 10:00 everyone is here and the place is just a bunch of confusion. I generally leave around 3:00 everyday but sometimes I'm here until 5:00 or even later. My work is primarily project based. I really enjoy the Monday through Friday more than anything and having normal weekends for the first time in almost 15 years.

8-4:30 with almost no work done or thought about outside of that. rare instances when there is a big closing coming up or when I am doing something with California people that schedule calls late in the afternoon east coast time.
