Went to the outlets on our way back from Rhode Island yesterday. Under Armor had 40% off all golf gear. Did I NEED $275 worth of polos, pants, shorts, and Q zips? No, but I still loaded up anyways

We have a really nice outlet mall near us and the Under Armour store is always stocked with golf stuff. It's great. On the other hand, the Adidas store has no golf apparel. So disappointing because Adidas Golf apparel is my favorite.

Shot a 40-41 on friday, ball striking was prett-ay good which seems to be a trend the last 3 rounds for me. I hope that continues. I missed a 4ft eagle putt on a par 4 but easy tap in birdie

Adidas stuff is garbage. Our staff stuff at the course is always Adidas.

Shot 86 on Saturday. I was 6 over through 11 with 14 putts and then 4 putted from 15 feet on 12.

Last night I only got 15 holes in but was only 6 over. Get to post an 80 for my handicap.

thanks...it could merely be coincidence but i've been using a range finder the last few rounds and those are the best 3 rounds i've had in a loooong time. all in the 80's. i feel like i've always been able to choose the right club but perhaps i wasnt. beyond that though, i have also felt more confident when hitting the ball recently which certainly helps. not really sure where it all came from since i've now got only 5 rounds under my belt for the year, and barely played last year

yup i still hit the ball a ton - distance is never a concern of mine

Very rough weekend for me. Shot an 88 on Friday and a really nice 103 yesterday. Looked like I've never played before. Totally embarrassed myself.

Shot 37 on Friday, but I’m sure what par is right now. I think it’s 33. The course lost a green and a tee box in a mud slide, and they have 2 temporary holes set up. Not sure they’ll ever be able to fix it which is bad news for the course.

I saw something that you rarely see on a golf course. I saw someone hit their second shot on a par 3 OB. Sadly it was my son and it was in an AJGA qualifier and he is likely going to miss getting in by 1 or 2 shots. 227 yard par 3 into the wind. My son hit 3 iron into the left bunker. The pin was in the back so he had a long bunker shot with a lot of sand to carry. He caught a bit too much ball and flew the green, one hopped on to a cart path and when it bounced across the cart path, it picked up enough momentum to get it through the few feet of rough and reach the OB. He ended up making 6. He paused in disbelief after he saw where the ball had gone. He couldn't believe what had happened. Neither one of us considered that the OB was in play on that shot. Had he skulled the ball, it would have hit the lip or hill of the bunker in front of him and kept it in play and maybe even on the green. Crazy game.

Welp, I did not make the cut in my tournament. Was -1 through 10, but slept about 2 hours and it was 95 degrees and humid, and just hit a wall of exhaustion on the back 9. Lost a bit of focus on a few swings that resulted in me making bogey three holes in a row which just killed my round. For example: Played the an insanely tough par 5 on the course perfectly the first two shots, and just lost focus with my 60 yard wedge in to the green and hit it about 3 yards beyond the hole. Green sloped HARD off the back, I knew it, and knew I wanted to be a few yards short of the hole (so I was about 6-7 yards beyond what I wanted) and the ball just couldn't hold that spot and it ended up 20 yards beyond the green. Tough pitch back up and all the sudden a good birdie opportunity after 2 shots turned into a near impossible par. Just dumb mistakes.

Either way, fun as hell and it was fun to be T3 in a huge field after 10. Truly think I was a good night's sleep away from making the cut but good lessons learned. Fun to play in an event like that with a bunch of scratch and plus handicaps and be able to hold my own.

    thanks dude

My boss is on vacation this week so I'm at least going to play Friday afternoon (potentially Thursday as well) to work the kinks out and get the swing dialed in. Then off Saturday and match at 8:30 Sunday morning.

Been striking the ball really well lately so I'm hoping I ride that momentum into at least this week. My opponent is 2 strokes better per his handicap, but this is a flighted tournament so you don't get any strokes for matches within your flight. I can definitely win if I play a great round, but I think this dude shot like a 79 last week per GHIN so if he plays like that then I have next to no shot

Has anyone played Skyway Golf Club in NJ? It's a 9 hole course and it looks pretty cool. We're going to NYC next week and I'm debating between cab ride(s), rental clubs, and green fees there VS. 9/11 Museum, Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island. I'm trying to get to all 50 states, but I think doing Philly, NJ, and DE courses in a later trip would be better.

Bunker shots in a tournament are brutal. Nerves hit x100.

Thanks. Of corse it’s poring right now. It’s supposed to clear up, but this sucks.it’s rained here for the last 25 days straight every single day. It’s hard enough to get a tee time here because of these rich fucks who play here.
