To actually get the package on the release date, shipping is like $25.00 or sone ungodly amount like that (yeah, this guy pre-ordered on the first day), so the total price is $57.00.

I understand the concerns that it looks too much like BW at least in terms of color. It looks like kind of like a "sequel" to BW, which it is not. Regardless, I think this is all much ado about nothing. This is going straight on my laptop and iPod and I will look at the art hardly ever. It's the content that matters. The cover of BTCS could have been Strawberry Shortcake riding a velociraptor and the music still would have been just as awesome.

Gotcha, just recently checked that out as I am gonna place the order soon. Don't care enough to get it immediately so the $10 shipping is just fine for me. Like somebody said before, you could go to Best Buy and get it for $10 the day of. Hell, you could probably try to return it once the Super Deluxe comes in the mail and at least get store credit, lol.

I think you hit a point that is underlying in some people's opinions on the cover art is that it really does come across as if it's some sort of sequel to BW which is pretty far from the truth. It means nothing in the end though to me, i just don't prefer it.

Not sure if this was so obvious that it didn't need to be said, but the deluxe bonus album cover mimics the concept of the album cover.

for BW dave said he really wanted to produce artwork that gave fans something to look at and explore while they listened to the album. It seems like he was going for the same thing here. I like the artwork, and think it will be cool to decipher each character's expressions in the context of the whole album.

wow, good call.

it definitely seems like he was inspired/influenced by that. i wouldn't call it ripping off though. people copy and recreate previous designers/artists work all the time. poems inspire poems, songs inspire songs. whats that famous poem by sir walter raleigh? shephards reply to the nymph, maybe? i think that was a direct retort to another poem. come live with me and be my love. i don't know, i forget. but you know what i mean. art seems to always be a response to something.

I noticed on the pre-order page that the Deluxe option has the cover in black and white? Is that what you'll get if you order Deluxe? seems kinda odd

I'm pretty sure its the same as the BW deluxe. If you ordered the BW deluxe you got a black and white cover while those who ordered the Super Deluxe got the standard artwork.

Well that kind of sucks....for me anyway cause I ordered Deluxe. I wanted the full color album artwork. Oh well I didn't buy it for the artwork anyway

I think I remembered seeing something that said "artwork for Super Deluxe coming soon". I could be wrong though.

After listening to the album a few times, I really don't like the artwork for this album. I really don't think it goes well with the music that is on here. I know its just album artwork and it doesn't matter, but still wish they would have went a different route.

I disagree. I think the complexity of emotions and personalities conveyed in the artwork is reflective of the complexity and range in the music. Still don't like the color pallet, but that doesn't affect the concept behind the art.

I don't feel ashamed to say I think the placeholder image was actually really perfect. I'm not totally a fan of this artwork. I liked that black image with the writing on it in the center. Thats what i still think of
