if you don't mind me asking, why is it just Dave & Tim? Seems very strange they would put them in an amphitheatre in the middle of a DMB tour....

$ and ease. Cheaper to bring in just them 2 and easier from an equipment and staffing point of view.

thanks for the reply, just seems odd to me since that venue is a typical full band type venue. it's really no different than toyota pavilion at montage or bethel woods. i'm just surprised the venue wouldn't bring in the full band

I've seen them before...and I'm definitely interested in seeing them at CMAC. It's actually not that big of a venue. It seems alot smaller. I can definitely picture a D&T show there.

It's only a little smaller than Darien, and DMB set the crowd record there back in 1999 with 17,026. That's a pretty big D&T show, especially for an outdoor venue. I know they've done a few that big in the past, but a D&T show is more intimate....

who said anything about selling the lawn if its D+T?? they could just sell the 5,000 pavilion seats, which would make it the size of other D+T shows, and stop there. just because they COULD sell lawn doesn't mean they will.

When was the last time you heard about an amphitheater only selling shell seats to a show of this magnitude???

i'm just sayin, places do that sometimes. the pavilion in camden can be closed off (portable wall) behind the 200 sections to make it just a 6,000 seat amphitheater. even if they sell out those events, they don't see lawn seats. i don't know if CMAC can close off the pavilion, but just because they have a lawn doesn't mean they will sell it. if it is D+T they could make it pavilion only. and who knows, Dave might even request it to only be pavilion so its like other D+T shows. you don't know, but its not entirely out of the question like you all say.

Tickets would be astronomically priced for that show...I don't know how many seats there are under the shell at CMAC, but it can't be more than 5000, and I even think that is a high number...

i searched the almanac and the only time D/T played a full amphitheatre was for Farm Aid a handful of times. So this would be the first full show.
it is true they have played some 10k arenas though.

Hope this happens for everybody i'm just very surprised they wouldn't be getting the full band, i mean Phish is playing at CMAC in June so the venue can accomodate dmb.....

if you read the thread the OP said it would be easier to get just the 2 of them due to equipment and staff issues. that makes it seem like the venue can't handle the full band production. GENIUS
