So talkin' about flu shots, back in Feb I contracted pneumonia, shit was terrible. people say once you get pneumonia once then you're more susceptible to catching it again. Isn't there like pneumonia shot too?

A ton of different bacteria/viruses/fungi can cause pneumonia. You might be thinking of the Pneumococcal pneumonia vaccine but it's really only given to children under 2 and adults over 65.

Smooth... don't you currently live in another country? Or have lived in other countries besides the US? I ask b/c of the current discussion about flu shots... just curious if they are as militant about it in other countries.

There’s several grammatical/spelling things like that (fragmented sentences, inconsistent tenses...) that I thought maybe English isn’t his first language, but his name is SUPER American, so it probably is.

And yeah, being able to show up on time isn’t exactly a great resume line but he referenced it multiple times in his Cover Letter. All I could think was this kid probably wasn’t the best all through high school and whenever teachers had to say something good about him they all just said “well, he shows up on time!” And he’s just too blissfully unaware that that’s all they said

Had to get the flu shot this year due to school but I don't normally go for one. The last time I was legit sick was my first semester living in the dorms in 2008. Since then, a few minor head colds that last a day or two. True sick days don't exist for me

Right now I'm in the US visiting my folks. But lived in Canada, US, Costa Rica, Chile, Australia, Russia, China, Singapore, South Korea and Spain. Went to school or taught in schools in almost all those. I don't think I could give any sort of legitimate opinion on that. In the last 4 years teaching in Spain I never knew anyone who got one or talked about it at all. Definitely not a big push to get one. Maybe people get them, good health care system, but there definitely aren't signs everywhere or a push to get people to get them. Definitely not like the US. In China I think more people are getting them but the reality is that there are so many people and the answer probably depends where you live. Maybe for educated Chinese with money in big cities. For rural parts, I can't imagine, not from my experiences. In my 3 years there it was never something that was a big issue. The other countries it's been too long for me to have any sort of thoughts on it. Whether or not people in those countries get them or not I never noticed any sort of public awareness or campaign to get people to get flu shots.

Mind you, this is just my experience. It's possible that everyone gets flu shots, but you definitely don't see signs at the pharmacy and supermarkets for flu shots.

If the actual company that I stiffed back in college called me trying to collect the debt, I might would pay them just out of a sense of doing the right thing (and assuming I could verify it was really that company). Some asshole that bought a spreadsheet with some debt data on it off the internet? Get fucked. I don't owe YOU shit.

I have now gotten called 4 times from a law firm in MI at my work line. I had missed a few of them, finally answered today. They asked for another employee, a woman in MI. Had no idea how they got me in WI or why, but then figured it out. My first three letters are BRY, hers are CRY. Same keypad numbers in the company directory.

The attorney would not say really anything on the phone, would not leave a message or call back number. They just wanted this woman.

Wondering if it was a collection. No idea, I sent the lady a heads up email, she is on vacation for another week apparently though. Who knows.

It honestly boggles my fucking mind that seemingly tech savvy people, people who have grown up around and using computers, don't have the wherewithal to do a simple reboot of their application or system when they experience random errors when using said applications. Why the fuck wouldn't that be the first place your head goes before submitting an issue to tech support?

Because you know what? The first thing I'm going to tell you every fucking time is to restart your program/machine, literally 100% of the time. And you know what? 99% of the time that fixes the issue.

Remember that for next fucking time.
