yeah i don’t know about the load management angle, but Pelinka did a great job turning a disastrous move into a pretty decent team

i definitely don’t think they improved, but i buy Bo’s take that Westbrook will be a good innings eater in the regular season

I’m really not seeing how this team isn’t better. Harrell was unplayable at points in the season, Kuzma has probably peaked as being a decent player, losing Caruso stinks but Nunn might be a better option for the price, THT should continue to grow, KCP is a loss but he’s also a guy who breaks down mentally and becomes a black hole on offense when he can’t get his head right.

Westbrook >>> Dennis.

A team of vets is exactly what Vogel needed, because Dennis especially was killing this fucking team chemistry wise.

i mean you’re replacing Caldwell-Pope, Morris, and McLemore with Ellington, Anthony, and Monk, none of which are 16-game players. that’s a wash at best but overall worse due to the fact that you’re queasy about them playing against the best of the best

Schröder stinks, but by virtue of Westbrook needing to be involved in actions to be effective, Westbrook makes them worse. he doesn’t have to be guarded while Schröder does. never mind that they’re probably equal at best defensively. (not saying they should’ve paid Schröder, i’m just low on Westbrook)


the Howard upgrade on Drummond and Nunn/Monk theoretical upgrade on Caruso is great in the regular year. but just doesn’t scream playoffs to me.

keep in mind i’m thinking of 2021 Lakers as the team SMOKING the conference champs until Davis went down. they were elite

kinda worried about Miami

they’re going all in with this group with limited flexibility (guaranteed to go heavily into the tax in future years). the Lowry and Robinson deals are decent individually but as a whole i’m not seeing a championship team here or anytime soon. not a lot of outs either with the size of Butler’s extension and Adebayo. i’m willing to bet that three of those will be negative deals in a couple of years

also, Dallas, New York and New Orleans made very similar mistakes, to a lesser extent. they could’ve had good cap flexibility next year but chose “stay mediocre now”. Williamson is good as gone tbh. Doncic who knows, i’d be worried for sure

i misspoke on Dallas, they wouldn’t have had cap flexibility moving forward. but this was their big shot to improve the team before Doncic’s extension kicks in and they chose Hardaway and Bullock

that’s a lot of money for guaranteed first round exits the next four years, not sure how much he’d love that
