    Re: Samurai Cop

OK, so I listened to this song on repeat on my way to work and here's my theory as to why Boyd is virtually silenced until the end. We have this: http://radio1045.iheart.com/onair/of...tles-13625583/ and even though Samarai Cop wasn't on that list I think this could work with an orchestra. And they obviously did not have an orchestra with them on Friday. In order for the end to sound fuller, more epic, more orchestral, they cut Boyd out/turned him down until the end. You can clearly see him playing when the horns start but can't hear him. Can't wait to hear it again and hope that they take a listen to themselves and decide to let us hear Boyd throughout the song.

Yes, as soon as I first heard this, I knew I loved it.

Already listened to it about 10x or more. Think it has potential to be one of their best studio songs since the BS album!

I like the song even more after learning what the lyrics are. If you have kids this song should hit a sweet spot.

Reminds me of one of my favorite Counting Crows lines. "We were perfect when we started, I've been wondering where we've gone."

For sure, just took my 3 year old daughter to Disney recently and I remember watching her thinking to myself "Man I just hope she can remember how much fun she is having right now and it always be like this" but obviously it is inevitable she'll grow up and the world will get to her and she won't be able to be that joyful forever.

    Awesome song.

dontburnthepig.org is a great place to download highlight songs from each night of the tour. All new songs are up now as well as sugar will and last stop.

    Re: Samurai Cop

Man it just gets better when I listen to it each time. I understand folks saying "that doesn't sound like traditional DMB," but to me it just sounds awesome... period. It isn't overly complicated, and it doesn't have to be. I think a lot of its power is in its simplicity. That guitar riff is striking.

Everyone was in my section seemed to be in total agreement after it was played. We all kind of looked at each other and said, almost in a surprised way, "That was really GOOD!" "Wow, I actually REALLY liked that one!"

I hope it's a single, and I hope it's a big hit for the band. I think it can be an "anthem" type of song live as folks in here earlier said, and I think it could be a killer studio cut, as well.

I totally agree with this also. I can see him really pouring himself into it. Seems to be about the birth and infancy of children, presumably his, so I can see why this would be really meaningful for him.

Wow. It took me about 3 listens and good head phones for it to actually hit me. The "lets not forget..." section is amazing. Song just flows. I can imagine how popular this song is/will be with parents.

Its refreshing to get 3 new songs that dont have the typical cheesy dave lyrics. I dont understand how these songs were written with BBB and BM.
