Interesting question.
I'd say the comparisons really do stop at the optimism of both characters. And to be honest, CA:TFA is just way campier and feels so totally different than WW. I can see why they're compared but WW is leaps and bounds better. I mean, Steve Rogers was raised in Brooklyn and always wanted to fight in the army; he gets a shot of super steroids and his dreams basically come true right away (except the part where he was a performer or whatever about halfway through the movie). Diana, on the other hand, is raised on a hidden island with a group of mythical warriors totally removed from mankind. Steve knew about the atrocities of war and wanted to fight anyways, which is obviously noble in its own regard. Diana is a true fish-out-of-water that knows the world and war only through the stories she's told as a child.
That's my long-winded way of saying, no, other than the wartime setting and the optimistic tone of both characters, these two movies really are nothing alike. I'm sure some will draw some comparisons but really I did not see anything resembling Captain America: The First Avenger in Wonder Woman.
