Soylent Green.
In this early 70s sort of post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi thriller,
.
Staring Charlton Heston, who seems to love raiding the pantries and homes of wherever he investigates or goes for luxuries, as well as bedding every woman he comes across with little fanfare, pretense, or foreplay. He just hops into bed with them. This has a good plot but is just a ton of nothing really happening by today's standards.
The plot is simple. It's the mid-21st century and mankind has destroyed the environment to such a point that nobody can be outside for too long for fear of being cooked by the sun's rays, plants can't grow due to the absence of any real water or nutrient, animals can't feed on plants that can't grow, and with the exception of a few greenhouses, there's very little plant or animals to go around. The government, under the guise of harvesting plankton from the ocean and processing it into little tablets of food, is actually serving a fare of a different variety.
Overall, this has cheesy 70s sci-fi written all over it, and for the most part, that's what it is. Has a great dream/death sequence near the end just after the climax and before the denouement. which is probably the highlight of the film
7/10.
