I have listened to the Charlotte 07.24.2021 rip by Mike Peters. The rip is pretty good, mainly if compared to the other one, but in my opinion was just a bit to flat.
As I wrote somewhere else, I am far from being a mixing expert, and I barely understand all the techniques that Djamieb used to enhance some of the latest shows, bringing a lot of magic to those (also.. Logic Pro X is over 200$).
So I played a bit with Audacity Graphical EQ, till I have found a customized curve that served to enhance a bit more the trebles and give a bit more breath.
I processed the original FLAC files with Audacity for Mac, then exported the result 320 MP3 (Audacity calls this “insane quality”).
I didn’t have any Dynamic EQ and neither any sophisticated plug-in to spread stereo image and applying some glue compression. Apparently, these are pro tools and don’t come with Audacity.
So, don’t expect any miracle from this “reworked rip”.
Nevertheless, I am quite happy with the final result, at least for me is quite an enjoyable listen, starting from a great 18 min Seek Up.
So, here is the link for the MP3s of Charlotte 07.24.2021
