I'm not starting a "Carter can't play anymore" discussion because 62 year old Carter can play better with one hand 99.9% of the time than I can hope to ever play, but everyone gets tired or sore or just isn't feeling it from time to time....and management chose one of those to upload.

To be clear, I am not criticizing Carter. As usual, it's management or whoever chose to upload the most uninspired version of that song possible.

Glad you enjoy it, but I think that phrase often gets thrown around when something is off as some sort of substantiation for it, or a defense...when one isn't needed.

yeah they're not allowed to try different stuff out you're right. the syncopation of Herb's part in Pudding Time makes the song and it's a completely different song with the current kick pattern he's using

If you’re looking at it objectively and not going out of your way to ballwash everything the band does, that 2012 FTWII is about 20 billion times better than the 2019 one, especially the drumming. I’ve rarely ever seen Carter as bored as he was in that 2019 video. He busted out the triangle in the 2012 video, for fucks sake.

And that’s without even mentioning Buddy’s church organ solo in the 2019 one. Fucking barf.

And AGAIN, lest someone think I'm bashing Carter. I. AM. NOT. The particular version they chose to post just seems to be an off performance. That's it. It happens. Maybe he was tired. Maybe his 60 year old wrists hurt. Maybe he just felt like playing it simpler. Regardless of the reason, there are plenty of 2019 performances (the VAAAST majority) where Carter dominates as usual.

Management just doesn't get it. It's as if they threw a dart at a 2019 calendar, pulled out that night's setlist, and then threw a dart that hit "Funny."

I swear, someone held a gun to someone's head to make them release the Dave & Carter thing last year, because that is BY A MILLION MILES the best thing they've made available in years. Then again, there's the old adage that a monkey given infinite time and type writer would eventually type out Shakespeare or whatever.... so maybe that was just their accidentally getting it right.

But oh well. I seriously hope this TOUR is incredible. It's been a long, unexpected hiatus and I seriously hope they come out swinging!

Once again I am complaining about the mix on this one, just like the Raleigh video. It seems quite off.

My gf just showed me this. There was a post from yesterday with lyrics to YNK, and then today a post of the Busted Stuff album cover asking which song we want to see this summer from that album.

This show is actually has much more interesting stuff.. Pig, Joyride, seek up ect. Yet they go with a basic Satellite. Besides Rashawn being so high, the mix is actually decent on this one. Carter’s drums actually sound good here, and not all muddy and bland.
