Absolutely. You can complain and bitch and moan all you want. Go for it!

But if you buy tickets to a show, and aren't happy with the sets they've been playing for the past 14 years, then it's on you at this point.

Or if you think sets are diverse enough from show to show, it's on you at this point. Not the band.

Expecting the band to be something different than what they've been the past 20 years and then bitching about it, is silly.

I get what you're saying, but Paul is well above average as a singer and bassist. His vocal range and power, his ability to create great bass lines regardless of who wrote the songs, arrangement skills that he learned from Sir Martin...nothing about Paul was average.

Well, those later Wings' albums and a bunch of the solo stuff from the late '80s on. He gets a pass, however, because he's Paul Fucking McCartney...the MACCA!

I love the fucking Beatles. I have their whole studio discography, granted I don’t listen to them as much these days as I did when I was in my teenage years. But they aren’t doing anything with their instruments that is beyond the capability of other professional musicians. The point I was going to jab at was about how he called Roi “average”. I’m assuming average means from a professional musician stand point, and not say a high school band saxophone player. Roi’s talent wasn’t on the level of John Coltrane, and I even think Coffin has a more sophisticated level of “talent”. But the way he played and what he added to music was one of the greatest of all time, similar to The Beatles (and yes, I agree Paul is by far the most talented Beatle and is by far my favorite member, during and post). That is why Roi is one of my favorite musicians of all time, no he wasn’t the most technically proficient jazz player of all time, but I don’t care about that. It was the way he played and approached the saxophone, and didn’t take the spotlight - he always added to the music in a special way that most musicians can’t. I’m not just saying this because he’s dead, he truly is one of if not my all time favorite musicians.

Tim entering the band in 09 has ruined the sound and pushed Boyd out.

DMB does not need an electric guitar solo ever.

Tim on L@RR is pretty money on R&R and Watchtower in particular, just a couple examples.

Yes I'm sure Tim showed Boyd how to jerk off in front of unwilling participants. Some of you need to be medicated.

All of which is fair. I don't love the average set from this tour because of the resurgence of a lot of Stand Up which is, personally, my least favorite album. But I still have a lot of fun at shows so when I complain about hearing Bayou for the third time in 3 shows this summer it's not me saying the band sucks, it's just complaining that I would have preferred hear something different. Not a way for me to say I expect something different, just that I'd prefer something different. I don't think that's out of line or silly

This couldn't be more wrong if you tried. Tim has been there from the start, on almost all studio albums and guesting on many tours. Boyd was pushed out because he was lazy and ungrateful. You're gonna need to start charging a toll if you're going to troll this hard.

While not the most diverse tour, I'm absolutely loving the fact that Boyd is gone and Buddy is in. His addition could truly launch the band into a renaissance era of both creativity and incredible setlists. Just need to get their first tour together as a group under their belt and then the skys the limit.

    Unpopular Star Wars opinions:

Attack of the Clones is the worst Star Wars movie

    Episode 7 & 8 are god awful

Revenge of the Sith and Phantom* are decent

Star Wars (new hope) is better than Empire and Return

    * I didn’t realize how terrible JarJar was when I was a kid. Nostalgia is the only thing that saves that movie for me. I put ROTS on the same crappy pedestal

The original SW trilogy is overrated. As much I loved them as a kid, ESB is arguably the only “objectively” good one. That said, the originals and the last two are quality mythic family sci-fi, albeit on the darker side (npi).

Watch Phantom again. It's not decent. Even if you take JarJar out completely, the only thing good about that move was Darth Maul. Everything else is unwatchable.

Hot Take: Solo was pretty enjoyable, and I wish it would have gotten a sequel.

Haha yeah, I know it’s pretty hard to watch. But that’s the first movie I can remember seeing in theaters, I was like 6 years old - it’s purely nostalgia. I’m not saying it’s a good movie by any means. For the record, I said the pedestal was “crappy” that I hold Phantom & ROTS on. The only 3 Star Wars movies I like are the original three, they are quite good. I’m more of a Star Trek fan though, not that you can’t be both.

    Here’s my ranking:

    1. TNG
    2. Original Trilogy (Star Wars)
    3. Original Series (Star Trek)
    4. The rest of Star Trek
    5. The rest of Star Wars

What always irritated me about ROTS was how he goes from wanting to destroy the emperor to straight out mass murder in a single scene. That character development was what the whole point of the movie and they fucked it up.

Musically it's great. Reminds me of the early 2000s.

Daves vocals are not as good as 8/19/08 tho.

    Today's opinion:

Dave Matthews Band have not really existed since Roi passed on. Furthermore, DMB stopped being the Dave Matthews Band once Rashawn Ross and Tim joined full time. They were still good, but not really playing the music the way it was meant to be played by this point.
