    Yes!
It is encouraging that the acoustic sets have brought back the potential of great song sequences along with that they also have the sound mixed quite clearly.. by the end of this tour including Europe if they do 2 sets there as well there will really be a huge library of amazing partially acoustic medium length concerts on tape! this will be a good companion library for all of the tapes of earlier electric concerts with amazing flow.

Definitely some of the best runs I've seen the past few years have been in the acoustic sets.

It's hard to get a good run in the 2014-2015 electric sets that isn't broken up by dropping in Seven, Shake Me, You & Me, Spaceman or Jimi Thing.

It is reaching the point of being weird isn't it!

Your method of basically switching as few as two songs in place of them and the past two years' concerts look perfect. it does make sense where they know some concertgoers like those songs, but, they could open with them.

even this as a main set, brace yourself ...

    Shake Me
    Seven
    Angel
    You and Me
    I Did It
    Lie in our Graves
    Rhyme and Reason
    Crash
    Captain
    Drunken Soldier -->
    Bartender -->
    Drive in Drive out

would be ok, even with those songs opening all in row!

It is that as people in the setlist thread say, it dives in the opposite direction inexplicably.

They have potential and usually just end up screwing up these electric sets. NI N2 last year started Minarets, Idea Of You, Crush, Warehouse, Song That Jane Likes. That's a fantastic start. But the ending run with the ladies on Can't Stop and You And Me leaves that shitty taste in your mouth.

Yep, a good example is from Hartford N1 2014-

    Minarets
    #41
    Belly Belly Nice
    If Only
    Warehouse
    Lover Lay Down
    The Song That Jane Likes

Replace If Only Dancing Nancies and that's a great run.

    Another example from N2-

    Dancing Nancies
    Rooftop
    One Sweet World
    Seven
    You Never Know
    Crush

Replace Seven with something like Pig or Raven, and it would probably be my favorite run I've seen.

I forgot to add the Maker also, lol.

Also, the encore looks bland on paper but it's probably one of the most fun endings I've seen. The crowd interaction was great.

From the second they burst into Bartender, i had the biggest shit eating grin on my face that didn't go away until the next morning. i liked DMB before then, but that just sealed the deal, man.

i'd kill for a better tape or a release of this entire show

Re: Spinoff: Best 5 Song Run You've Seen

you could probably take almost any pre-Everyday concert and slice each one two or three ways and come up with a great 5 or 6 song run. Some of these post Stand Up runs are really great (and surprising).

I was lucky enough to be at both Alpine 12 and Cville 10 and there were some very good runs as already noted. My favorite in-person run, though, was Lakeside N3. For some reason, that one seemed the most fun. A few have already mentioned the seven-song opening run, but then you had Spaceman and Seek Up as eight and nine (love me some Spaceman).

minor quibble - not sure how a run can include a 10-minute encore break (picky picky)

I agree. It wasn't a consecutive run, but Mansfield last year had Two Step, Billies, IBYU, WWYS and Ants Marching in the span of less than an hour. You almost never get that many classics so close together these days.

I guess 9.2.16 at the Gorge.

    STJL
    Warehouse>
    Seek Up
    WWYS with Carlos Malta
    Lover Lay Down

And that’s only five songs, but it was followed by DDTW and Nancies. Great run.

The best show I’ve seen is N2 Deer Creek in 2014. Great acoustic and electric set.

While divided by the encore break, it ended with:

    Everyday
    Ants Fake>Halloween

    Some Devil
    Granny
    Grey Street

While it doesn’t jump off the page on paper, the place was rockin and it was a perfect encore to cap off a 2 night run.

    Everyday
    Ants Fake>Halloween

    Some Devil
    Granny
    Grey Street

While it doesn’t jump off the page on paper, the place was rockin and it was a perfect encore to cap off a 2 night run.
That was one of the things about the acoustic sets, they definitely had some nice songs in them. I liked them.

This start to the Dallas '06 show was straight fire and completely unexpected being near the end of the tour. It does fall off the cliff a bit after that.

This whole show is gold, but you forgot the opening Seek Up>Heartbeat that went into PNP>Rapunzel.
