I enjoyed it, didn't think it was the greatest thing ever but it was very well done. I think almost everyone's complaints can be summed up in the fact that they were very consciously making like a PG-13 80s movie, so stuff like why did Nancy crawl in herself is because people did stupid shit like that in 80s movies Not to mention every horror movie, though I don't think I'd consider this horror.

I guess I don't get people being irked by the look of the show being so similar to the 80's shows/movies. They purposely have callbacks to movies/shows. It's also a big reason why I love the show so much - finding all the easter eggs.

Yea that was one of my critiques after seeing Ep 1. After I got to watching more tho, I understood what they were doing that thats what it was going for.

Definitely helps you enjoy it more

Got through the first two eps last night. It's definitely creepy but it's more like a sci-fi mystery kind of creepy.

Im 7 eps in...this show fucking sucks so much ass, but I need the story to be resolved because the Police Chief and EL are the only compelling characters on the show. The kids are awful (Dustin is the only tolerable one)...The older sister is awful...Steve is awful...Winona Rider is okay. This needs to end.

Just finished the season. Loved it. It was a good mix of Wes Craven and Stephen King.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree with all the bold.

Steve is awful but he's not a one-note antagonist. Like all the other characters he has depths that are not obvious at first.

This show is first-rate storytelling.

I thought the acting was actually top notch; especially the kids. The little black kid - whom I think is named Caleb - was actually great. He gave great facial reactions to all the other kids lines just as a normal 12 yr old would. He was like the Gregory Itzin of facial expressions.

3 eps left and this show is really enjoyable. That scene with Nancy in the tree. That was crazy. It took everything I had to turn it off and go to bed after that episode.

The kids really annoyed me. I can't say I'll come back for season 2 (i'll probably give it 1 or 2 episodes.) Maybe because I was born in 1993 that I can't appreciate the 80'sness of the show. I just found the plot to be incredibly stupid (I get that it's sci-fi, but It was just all over the place). I change my opinion about Winnona, she was great. I found myself predicting pretty much everything. Season 1 gets a B-...Some good moments, but nothing memorable at all

Just finished this the other night. What a fun show. I don't know how they're going to continue it, as I felt like the story was pretty well wrapped up. I read somewhere that they're thinking of continuing this in the vein of Harry Potter, in that you continue to watch the show each year and watch the kids grow up. However, I think it would be cool to go the way of American Horror Story and do a new story each season. I would have been completely satisfied with the way this season ended, and then have a couple of those little cliffhangers left alone to the imagination.

Really enjoyed this show. Acting and character development were both on point. Had the "binge factor" for me as I watched it in two sittings without intending to finish it that fast.

As for Barb, I don't get what a lot of people don't get. Will was very obviously either abducted or murdered being he just disappeared and they found his bike in the woods. The government people planted Barb's car at the train station, indicating a run-away. Nancy was the only one who noticed anything was off and no one had any reason to believe it was related to Will at all. A child abduction would be treated differently than a teenage runaway. Plus it was clear that the sheriff had an emotional tie to Will's case due to losing his daughter that he didn't have with Barb or her family, hence him focusing exclusively on that. There were probably more inquiries into Barb being missing by other police, etc. that weren't shown because they weren't central to the story other than being a catalyst for getting Nancy involved.

I mean, technically, you could have left the whole Barb/Nancy part of the story out and not much would change big picture, since 11 ended up killing the thing anyway.

BUT we wouldn't have had nearly as much character development and...you know...telling of a story.

I finished the show the other day. I really enjoyed it. I was hoping the show would be an anthology series, but I'm okay seeing the storyline continue.
