usually the critics or reviewers aren't going to be positive about a film they didn't like watching, and vice versa. so it's sort of hard to separate the two

I don't think anyone could reasonably defend Suicide Squad. There are definitely people out there who
liked it but probably recognize that it's not a good movie. Much in the way I would view those cheesy sort of mid-to-late 90's action flicks; more of a guilty pleasure type thing.
I don't really feel like doing a deep dive on BvS for the upteenth time but I think there are people (possibly like MOWJO- but don't want to put words in his mouth) that didn't like the direction the film went but still recognize that it's an amazingly-made movie; from the costume design to the cinematography to the sets, etc. Stuff that makes a movie come to life. There are like a thousand things that go into making a movie, I think reasonable people try to recognize what they like about the movie and what they don't like and come to a conclusion based on that, rather than like one or two plot moments in the film ("Martha" comes to mind).
