I didn't even know he/they were in town. Wishing I would have gone last night. Would be fucking surreal right now for me.

Waking up to sad, sad news. One of the leaders of the so-called grunge era. Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog all spectacular. RIP to a legend.

Is Vedder the only "grunge god" still alive at this point?

As far as lead singers go, yes.

Cobain, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland, and now Chris Cornell.

    So sad.

Yeah, for the big mainstream bands.

I think back to that time...early to mid 90s....and I can only think of Billy Corgan....and I guess Black Francis of the Pixies but they werent really "grunge". (radiohead group?)

But yes, Eddie vedder is all that's left. Kurt, layne and Scott all have another member to join them.

My childhood is slowly slipping away. Dave, Eddie and Corgan are the last big names left from my music life as a pre-teen/teen.

Horrible news. Extremely grateful that my brother and I were able to see him solo acoustic in Charlotte last summer. He was one of the best rock vocalists of all time no question about it.

Mark Lanegan from Screaming Trees, you may remember their track "Nearly Lost You" from the Singles OST, is still kicking - he recently recorded vocals for the unfinished tracks that would have been part of Mad Season's second album, all included in the deluxe expanded edition of Mad Season's Above.

    Great voice.

Hours after a show. As someone said earlier I can't put myself into someone's mind like that to know what they are feeling/going through but still amazes me.
