How much effort would this take? Would the will ever be there to do something like that? Would it make any difference?

Why would DMB do it? They're already on board with Live Nation Verified Resale...they're in the scalping business

And Pits/Lowers are going for pennies on the dollar for the next two shows Austin/Atlanta...they want to sell every ticket they possibly can

Not that I think RLM cares about scalping but...

They could work with Ticketmaster to like the NFL is doing where if you buy a ticket from Ticketmaster your only options are Mobile Entry or Will Call. Now granted you can still resell the tickets through Ticketmaster Verified.

Or they could do like Radiohead where your ticket is either Will Call or Mobile ticket where the Mobile ticket is texted to you the day of the show. Now neither of these would discourage people from reselling but it would mean more leg work on the ground for scalpers and they would actively have to be at the venue.

It'd be great if they did, but DMB pretty much scalps their own tickets (platinum), and they allow re-sale on TM/LN, so I don't anticipate them doing this anytime soon.
