Totally disturbing article but not at all surprising. Anyone who has been around long enough has seen examples of Boyd being creepy. I've seen him also befriend random DMB friends of mine on social media while they all lapped it up thinking they were special. We've all seen those creepy long hugs at his random "meetings".

This all being said, other than the touching the guy and masturbating to him, I dont particulary think any of the texts or advances he made were wrongful. Creepy yes, but inviting him but not his friends to an aftershow hangout is an advance that one can say no to. Being a manager of a band and telling you good looking frontman to sex it up and "let me make you look like i am sexually exploiting you without exploiting you" line is likely something every manager has said to every women pop star around. This is not #metoo in my opinion.

Not defending boyd at all as it is CLEAR he crossed a line and did tons of wrong BUT i also think in some ways the writer of the article painted alot of "well this COULD be considered #metoo" when it really wasnt, even though there clearly was a small amount of actual #metoo truths

Also, the victim clearly times his press releases to get the most bang for the buck. He sends the demand letter the day of the first true show back in over a year making Boyd resign that day and now releases this the day before the DMB tour starts.

While I think the band did get ahead of it (imagine if he was supposed to be there tomorrow), they didn't say he was out of the band.

Sadly I'm trending towards belief. Lots of rumors, this guy has screenshots. Doesn't look good. Announcing his departure same day they got the notice about the claim. Not good.

I think Boyd's conduct with another person and another group entirely reflects poorly on DMB, especially if they had any knowledge this was going on.

I do think, however, it will reflect on the band regardless. That's what he's most famous for.

It'll be very interesting to see how all of this plays out, whether it gets national coverage or not especially. This is 100% the reason he's gone, it's no coincidence that the demand letter was sent on the same day DMB announced Boyd was out. My best guess is that the band and management were aware that something might be happening legally (with all the #MeToo stuff) and the second he got an official letter, he was out. Had it ended there, maybe he would've returned at some point. But now that a lawsuit is moving forward and articles are being written, I'm guessing he's gone for good.

I loved that Boyd was the most "accessible" to the fans, but those gatherings are just a bit more weird with hindsight being 20/20. Kinda wish I hadn't hugged him for a full minute.
