Why in the world would they bring on a new keyboardist on instead of bringing Butch Taylor back who is on half of their albums?! The moves this band makes some times is really mind boggling!

Butch has expressed that he would like to re join the band and he just played with them not too long ago. Who the hell is Buddy Strong? How about announce a violin replacement? lol

I understand he played a single show with them recently.

    We'll hear when we hear.

Did they announce RR before the start of the tour? Isn't it more of their nature to just walk out with him and start playing?

I definitely knew Rashawn was joining before the start of the 2006 tour, but I can't remember if that was through official channels or just rumors/other sources on this message board.

They definitely announced Tim's return in 2008, but that's a bit different since that name already held significance to fans that Rashawn/Buddy Strong's names wouldn't.

I'm excited to hear how they sound with the new setup. Their sound has been getting stale recently, and this might be a breath of fresh air.

I wanted Butch back, but only for the keys/jazz. The dude couldn't solo.

I'm liking the choice so far, and I think him being relatively unknown and not with a band already leaves him open to potentially become a permanent member if it works out.

I could see them really enjoying his contribution and the new direction of the band and making him permeant.

I think adding keys back after a decade is an awesome call. I still think they need strings onstage though.

Same. This guy looks good, and that's great, but why can't someone still play violin? It's a shame.

Yes, I found this on Facebook through a mutual friend. He also plays in some local bands here in Phoenix, where Buddy is from. I asked him if he was on the new album and he said no, but explained Buddy's extensive music experience. Looking up some of his work, he definitely will be an interesting jolt to the band this summer. We shall see!

I think the band will sound just as good if not likely better than they have in a while, BT was out to lunch the majority of the time and Dave's music sounds great with keys. Plus they still have everyone else, I'm looking forward to the tour!

I think they will sound better than they have in awhile on a lot of stuff. Theres still a large group of songs reliant on the violin and I cant picture myself liking keys trying to replicate it. But im open to see how it goes.

What if they turn Buddy down like they turned Butch down for the Charlottesville gig? What's the point then?
